Smile

Yesterday was my birthday.  My birthdays tend to go on for a stretch, which I don't mind at all!  lol  It got started off on Thursday with happy mail from my sweet friend, Audrey.  She sent me the prettiest handmade birthday card (thank you, Audrey).  I love it!  There's something about handmade things that I treasure.  My husband and son took me out to dinner twice and got me the most delicious cake from my favorite bakery.  When I return to work on Tuesday, we will be celebrating my birthday as well as the birthday of one of my co-workers (we love an excuse to eat cake!).  One of my godsons surprised me today with a gift that is appropriate for tonight.  We are experiencing a line of thunderstorms that will continue until tomorrow.  He gave me a stained glass butterfly candle holder with a candle called "Storm Watch."  How appropriate!  I also spent some fun time making a few cards and catching up on some reading.

The card I'm sharing today was made with Recollections cardstock for the base.  The pattern papers are from MME's Lost & Found collection.  I layered a strip of polka dot paper with a larger dot pennant as well as a doily onto the daisy paper.  I wrapped some deep pink twill around that.  I used some Martha Stewart glitter as well as some Antique Linen Distress Ink on the butterfly and placed some Prima flowers spritzed with S.W.A.K. Glimmer Mist, a button, twine and tag on it.  The stamped sentiment is from PTI. To finish it off, I added two little buttons to the lower right corner.

Well, that's it for now.  I'm going to make a cup of tea and plan to finish reading the last book of the Hunger Games Trilogy (Am I the only one out there who hasn't completed the series yet?).  Have a great week!

  6. This is really pretty! I love this line of papers from MME....and your card using them is gorgeous. I LOVED The Hunger Games (movie) but haven't read any of the books, although everyone says that they books are better than the movie.

If you get a chance, please check out our challenges at Word Art Wednesday. Your cards would be so perfect to play along.

    Have a blessed day,
