Tilda with Puppy

I had hoped to get this post up over the weekend, but I ended up pulling a muscle in my neck and shoulder and didn't really feel like doing anything I didn't have to do.  It's feeling a bit better today but still somewhat sore.  We've had nothing but rainy weather.  Someone said yesterday that it felt like we were in Seattle.  I don't mind the rain.  It's somewhat peaceful to me.  And, yes, I am one who likes a lot of snow!  I dread heat and humidity but don't have to worry about that just yet.

My card today was made for a niece's birthday.  Back in December, I found a copy of Magnolia Ink which included a free stamp "Christmas Tilda with Puppy."  I loved that issue.  However, it doesn't seem like my local bookstore is carrying that magazine anymore or another one from Australia that I also loved.  Seems like whenever I find something I like, it's no longer available here.  Anyway, I'm getting off the subject.  I started my card base by layering papers from Prima's Sweet Fairy line.  Tilda was stamped with black VersaFine ink and colored with Copic markers.  A bow was tied around the bottom with Offray ribbon.  Sentiment was stamped onto a Prima tag.  The Prima flowers were attached with a Doodlebug brad.

I'm really enjoyed learning to use the Copic markers.  I have techniques I need to improve upon as I slowly build my collection of colors.  It is relaxing and fun.

That's it for today.  I'm meeting a friend for dinner tonight.  We've been friends since childhood.  Although we don't see each other often, when we do get together, it's like no time has passed.  I am also happy to see I have a couple of new followers.  Thank you each and everyone who take the time to stop by here and also for your sweet comments.  Have a wonderful day!

  8. Ohhh Patty...I know what you are going through with your shoulder. I hurt mine (sprained rotator cuff & trapezious muscle) about a month and a half ago, and have been going to physio twice a week. Reading over the comments here, some other ladies have shoulder problems as well. Maybe stamping has a dark side??? tee hee hee

Beautiful colouring and shading on your Magnolia! Feel better soon!
