Heart Anniversary Card

Hi friends!  Yesterday, we had about 5 to 6 inches of snow followed by a coating of ice.  Note to self:  When having back problems, don't go and shovel snow.  Need I say more?  Anyway, today, we are above freezing so some of the snow should melt before the re-freeze tonight.

Today's card was quick and easy.  I wanted to make an anniversary card for my dear sister- and brother-in law that could be mailed flat.  It is difficult for me not to make a bulky card.  While this card was for an anniversary, the heart design could also be for Valentine's Day.

The base of the card is red cardstock.  I used a Tim Holtz' Springtime Background and Borders Set  embossing folder on white cardstock.  The red chipboard heart was in my stash.  The dimensional butterfly is Martha Stewart, the gold beads are Michael's, and the tiny ribbon flower cluster is from Joann's.

For the inside of the card, I used two borders from the set on white cardstock with a stamped sentiment from Kathy Davis.  Such a simple way to dress up the inside of a card!

What projects are you working on?  With this bitterly cold and snowy weather, I have been spending some extra time crafting, in particular, working on my first mini album using a 12x12 piece of cardstock.  I hope to share it soon.

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.  I look forward to all your kind comments.  Have a wonderful week!

  2. Hi Patty: This is a beautiful embossing folder and makes a gorgeous background. I like the red chipboard heart - did it come with the printing already on it?
We had heavy rain all morning, then freezing rain and now it's snowing again. Such a slushy mess outside. I have been knitting this afternoon while watching a movie. Stay warm! Hugs, Sharon

  4. More snow for you! I know that makes you happy, my friend... although I'm sorry to hear you strained your back shoveling! We were off all last week due to the little bit of snow and ice we got. I've still got patches around the yard, but we were finally able to go back to school today. I love being off, but it is hard to make up all the missed days...
Love your pretty anniversary card! The embossed background is really beautiful, and I love the big red heart. Looks so cool with the dimensional flowers in the center. Love how you finished off the inside, too!
