Little Birdie Tag

Hi everyone!  Today, I have a tag to share using mainly Tim Holtz items.  I love his crazy bird stamps, so that became the inspiration for my tag.

I began by adhering paper from Tim's Wallflower collection onto a premade tag.  I tucked some cheesecloth under the Prima doily.  A wreath was formed using Tim's paper string.  The branch is a Tim die.  The little bird was colored using various shades of Distress Ink and attached with foam squares.  The stamped sentiment is from Tim's Saying Stuff set.  The tiny flowers are from Recollections.  An idea-ology ribbon is tied at the top.

I am entering this tag in the Anything But Cute challenge blog, even though I think this tag is cute!  But that's between me and you!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate your kind comments.  Have a wonderful week!

Happy Father's Day 2016

Hi there!  It's a very warm sunny Father's Day here.  Happy Father's Day to all the Dads and those taking the place of Dads.

Today's card was made for my own dear Dad.  Whenever I need a masculine type card, I always go to my Tim Holtz stash.  The papers used are from his Correspondence collection.

Beginning with a dark blue cardstock base, I simply layered three different paper designs after distressing and inking the edges.  I attached an idea-ology book plate, stars and a hemp bow--all from Tim.  The bronze Dad stickers are from Making Memories.

Well, that's all for me today.  I'm off to begin preparations for Father's Day dinner.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend and best wishes for a wonderful week ahead.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate your kind comments.

Card Showcasing Flowers

Hi friends!  Our weather today is very warm, but the humidity is starting to drop.  I just came home from an arts and craft outdoor show.  There were a lot of jewelry and art work vendors.  I didn't buy anything but enjoyed looking at everything.

Once again, I have pulled out an older line of Melissa Frances paper to use as a background for my card showcasing flowers.  It came together very quickly.

The papers, which were actually scraps, were attached to a white cardstock base.  A lace trim was placed at the seam.  Cheesecloth and a Prima diecut doily were placed under the flowers.  The center flower is Prima and it is surrounded by various Petaloo flowers.  A hemp bow and tag stamped with a PTI sentiment were tucked into the flowers.  Prima rhinestone and pearl swirls were added as a finishing touch.

I love this pretty color palette.  I find it very soothing.  Using up some of my older stash of papers is always a good thing!

Well, that's it for me today.  I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate the comments you leave.  Have a wonderful week!

A Day in May Card

Hello everyone!  It's a very humid, warm day here today with severe storms expected later.  I have somewhere to be this afternoon, so I hope to get back home before the bad weather starts.

Today, I am sharing a card I made awhile ago.  Once again, I used the beautiful papers from Pion Design, this time being A Day in May.

Using a Heidi Swapp heart stencil and modeling paste, I began by making the heart design onto the green paper.  All paper edges were distressed and inked.  I then started layering various pieces of scrap paper as well as cheesecloth under the image.  A Martha Stewart punch was used on the stripe paper to give it more of a design.  The flowers are from Petaloo.  I cut the tiny "for you" sentiment from the border strips paper.   Fussy cut butterflies and a couple of hemp bows add a finishing touch.

I always love the soft color palette of Pion Design papers.  The images are so pretty as well.  The border strip sheet offers so many different ways to accent the papers.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and leaving a comment.  I appreciate hearing from you.  Have a wonderful week!
