Hi friends. My cousin's daughter recently got married and she (my cousin) asked me to make a special card for her to give to her daughter for the occasion. She was using pieces of her own wedding gown for part of the bridal bouquet. I asked her if she had any of the lace left over that I could use for the card. She gave me one of the sleeves and this is what I created.
The base is a card measuring 5x7 inches. I covered it with old-fashioned text cardstock and lace from the sleeve. The ruffled trim is from the cuff on the sleeve. I did add some lace trim from my stash for the edges of the card. The flowers and leaves are an assortment from Prima and Recollections. A Prima heart-shaped frame was tucked into the flowers and two resin birds placed in the opening. The sentiment is printed on vellum. I added some rhinestones for extra sparkle.
This was somewhat of a group effort! My cousin wanted to include a note to her daughter inside. I suggested she have that printed on vellum which a co-worker of her's was able to do. I folded the vellum and glued it in place. The left side of the page looked a little plain, so I cut a lace design from the sleeve and placed that at the top of the page. If you click each photo, you can see the details better.
Everyone was happy and quite touched with the card, which was a relief to me! I wasn't sure if they would like it. It will be put in a display box in their new home.
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and for your sweet comments. I do appreciate hearing from you! Have a wonderful week ahead!
