A Joyous Easter Card

Hi friends!  We had about 9 inches of snow on the first full day of spring this past week; however, most of it was gone over the next two days with warmer temperatures.  The month of March has been a snowy one.  Like I've said before, the seasons are all on a crazy cycle anymore.

With Easter fast approaching next week, I thought I'd better change gears and make an Easter card.  The papers I used for this card are from Pion Design's "Easter Greetings" collection.  I love the soft colors and delicate patterns of this line.

Beginning with white cardstock as a base, I layered a sheet of the paper after distressing the edges.  Next, I placed a piece of crochet trim on the left side.  The sweet image was placed on top of cheesecloth.  A Penny Black heart die strip was placed to the right.  The flowers are from www.craftycity.com.  The diecut leaves are from Cheery Lynn and the vintage buttons are from my stash.  The butterflies are from the paper collection and highlighted with Diamond Stickles.  I also added a touch of Stickles to the flowers in the image.  A few Liquid Pearls were also added.

A fairly simple card but one that makes me smile.  I hope that you like it as well.  It really is a beautiful collection of papers.

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.  I appreciate your sweet comments.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

  5. You have made me swoon, Patty! So many beautiful and delicate details on your Easter card. I've only made one Easter card this year, and you have inspired me to get making! These papers are so pretty, and you have showcased them beautifully with your lace, die cuts and added shimmer. Gorgeous! Sending hugs!

We've just got the cold wind and light rain from this weather system. Today we get sunshine with our dose of frigid wind, and a few warm days are in the forecast. Then it's back to winter. I'm scheduled to work on those nice days. :(:( In all fairness, this weather pattern is just cyclic. When I first moved here over 20 years ago (wow!has it been that long?) we had a horrible snowstorm at the end of March, and I'd be willing to bet it happened about 20 yrs. before that, too. Just my thoughts on weather...
