Tag Happy

Today, I have not one but two projects to share.  It is no secret that my most favorite craft project is a homemade tag.  Just love to make them!

First up is a tag layered with leftover scraps of paper from Prima's Anna Marie collection.  The flowers, I believe, are Prima as is the pearl/rhinestone swirl and the circle of crystal around the tiny rose in the upper right corner.  The butterfly charm is from Michaels.  I added some accents around the tag with Liquid Pearls and finished it off with a pink twill ribbon.

I love the papers in the 6x6 Anna Marie paper pad.  I'm finding myself drawn to them lately.  However, the next tag is completely different.

For this tag, I decided to get a little messy.  Using two shades of Tim Holtz' Distress Inks (salty ocean and squeezed lemonade) spritzed with water, I took a white tag and dragged it through the inks.  It created the prettiest color combination.  I did a bit of stamping with a Prima stamp.  I then took a Tim Holtz graduated circle stencil and created a nice layer with some Liquitex modeling paste.  A piece of wide lace was put on top of that.  The flowers are Prima.  See that pretty vine diecut?  That is from Cherry Lynn and I just love it!  The cluster of flowers was finished off with a vintage button and a rose from Recollections.  The butterfly was made with a Martha Stewart punch and coated with Recollections glitter.

Well, I guess that was a bit of a lengthy post from me; but I hope you like the tags.  It's a beautiful Memorial Day weekend here in this part of the country.  We're getting ready to go to a family barbecue but are keeping in mind those who gave their lives for this country.  Have a wonderful weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

One More

Another week has gone by so quickly!  After a nasty rainy Friday, the skies cleared for a breezy, cool, gorgeous weekend.  Today, we are going to spend some time with my in-law's for a belated Mother's Day get-together.

The card I'm sharing today is one more Mother's Day card which I gave to my godmother.  The PTI sentiment used here makes the card suitable for any occasion.

Once again, the papers are from Prima's Anna Marie collection.  I also used a bit of Prima packaging as a layer.  Lace, flowers, and pebble are also Prima.  For accents, I added pearls from Recollections, some Liquid Pearls, and a few vintage buttons.  The lacy border was made with a Martha Stewart punch.

I am very fortunate to have a sweet sister-in-law who shares some of her scraping goodies with me as used here.  I'm like a child at Christmas when she gives me a bag of things.

Thank you for stopping by.  I always look forward to reading your sweet comments.  Enjoy your week!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all moms and moms-to-be are having a wonderful day.  My son presented me with a dozen red roses and a heart-shaped cake.  We had breakfast with my parents; and later today, they will be coming over for Chinese food.  It is a beautiful day today weather-wise as well.  I planted some pretty flowers in my outdoor containers which adds such pretty color to the deck and by the front door.

My card today was made with everything Prima except the lace.  The papers are, once again, from the Anna Marie line using the 6x6 paper pad.

The larger flower was pieced together and highlighted with glitter.  The center was made with a pebble and a ring of pearls.  I used decorative scissors to cut a pink frame around the journaling card.

I gave this card to my Mom today for Mother's Day and she loved it.  I am also working on a tag using the leftover pieces of paper used to create this card which I will share another time.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment.  I enjoy reading each of them.  Now, I'm going to get outside and enjoy this picture-perfect day.  Have a wonderful week!

Live, Laugh, Love

Happy month of May!  Around here, May started out a bit stormy with quite a lot of rain.  Yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day.  While I don't do a lot of layouts, I did spend some time working on a tag and enjoying the live tutorials with Prima.

Speaking of Prima, today's card was made with Prima's Anna Marie 6x6 papers.  I'm finding myself making a lot of cards with these papers.

I believe all the flowers are Prima.  I used the Tim Holtz postage stamp die for the base of the card.  Martha Stewart punches and pearls had some decorative touches.  The sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

My parents just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary, so I gave this card to them.

Just a short post today as I have some errands to run.  Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments.  Have a wonderful week!
