More Bookmarks

Hey friends!  I hope you had a good weekend.  Mine was somewhat quiet and relaxing.  I was given a couple of containers of blueberries so decied to whip up a batch of blueberry muffins.  My husband and I went out to lunch at Applebee's today.  And I finally started to read "The Hunger Games" (am I the only one who hasn't read it yet) as well as "Tsar: The Lost World of Nicholas and Alexandra" (have always been fascinated by that story).  I did squeeze in a little crafting time and have some more bookmarks to share.

For these bookmarks, I used DCWV Mariposa paper.  The bookmarks themselves are from Recollections.  I found the Deco Chic charms at Michael's for half price and had a 20% off coupon.  The flowers, rhinestone centers and studs are Prima.  The rhinestone strips are Recollections.  The lace with the black squares is from Making Memories.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week!

Bookmarks

The weekend has gotten off to a great start.  The weather has been beautiful.  I did a bit of shopping today and met my SIL for lunch.  Very nice day.  Much needed rain, though, is forecast for the latter half of the weekend.

In the meantime, here are the bookmarks I made for little Easter gifts.  The bookmarks themselves are from Recollections.

The Bliss bookmark is made with MME paper, Prima flower, Martha Stewart butterfly and Recollections pearls.  The Bliss metal tag is from Making Memories.  The Hope tag as well as the next four use paper, stickers and diecuts from K&Co.  The flowers are Prima.

I really enjoyed making these.  I plan on making more for Mother's Day.  There are a lot of special occasions in the month of May in our family, and I have a lot of ideas of things to make.  We'll see how much gets done!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Banner BD Card

My nephew's birthday was last week and I made this card for him.  The paper is from Webster's Pages WonderFall line.  I used my new Fiskar's pennant punch to make the banner.  I applied EK gold stickers to the pennants and used gold beads from Recollections in between each one.  I attached them to a piece of twine and used Therm-o-web foam squares for dimension.  The word birthday was then stamped in brown ink.

I also made some bookmarks to give as little Easter gifts.  Here is a peek at two of them.  I'll share the rest of them and the details later in the week.

I hope the week ahead is wonderful for everyone.  We are expecting temperatures near 90 degrees tomorrow--may above normal!  Thanks so much for stopping by and the sweet comments you leave.  I do appreciate them.

Happy Easter (A Little Late!)

I had hoped to have a post up yesterday, but we were having some computer issues.  We had a wonderful Easter holiday--spent the morning with my parents with a huge breakfast and then dinner with my in-laws.  It is always fun to get together with everyone.  I am so glad I took today off to relax somewhat.  Anyway, here is a card I had hoped to share yesterday.

DCWV pre-made card was used for the base as well as  Prima paper, flower, leaves and a sweet flocked rub-on butterfly.  The green wavy strips are Bazzill diecut borders.  A Zva pearl swirl was used with a pink Recollections pearl on the butterfly.  A PTI sentiment stamped in VersaFine black ink finishes it off.

I am not much of a candy eater; however, I will pick up a few things to make a small Easter basket.  We have a wonderful local candy store that makes their own candies.  When I went there the other day, I spotted these cute little marshmallow chicks sitting in a bed of chocolate.  There were only two small packages left, so I decided to buy one.  Oh my, they are delicious!  I found that out last night.  I just wanted a little something with my cup of tea.  I'm glad there were only a few because I don't need the temptation!  lol

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope your weekend was wonderful and that the week ahead is too!

Easter Tag and a Challenge

There is something about vintage-style tags that I absolutely love!  Here is my take on one.

I used a kraft cardstock tag and covered it with MME paper.  With foam squares, I attached a Colorbok die-cut doily from the Victorian Parlour line.  Believe it or not, I cut out the image of the little girl from a newspaper insert advertising some product.  The photo was outlined with Liquid Pearls.  Part of the advertisement was printed on the upper right corner of the photo, so I just covered it up with the little aqua flower from Recollections.  The rope-type flowers at the bottom came from the bargin bin at Joann Fabrics.  I just added some Recollections aqua colored pearls to their centers.  A double strip of Recollections pearls was attached to the top of the MME paper.  I used some Wrights bias tape for the bow.  I like how the unfinished edge of the tape gives it a shabby look.  A glittered button, piece of hemp and a Recollections charm finishes it off.

Debbie at Simple Treasures is having a challenge on her blog, and I plan to enter it there.  I really enjoyed making this tag and will definitely be creating more.  I have an Easter card to share later this week.  Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments.
