Cherish Every Day Card for Secret Garden Crafts

Hi everyone!  Can you believe November is almost over?  Time is flying much too quickly!  First, I want to share a look at the design team package I was sent a couple of weeks ago for Secret Garden Crafts.  Isn't everything beautiful?

I couldn't wait to use these pretty flowers so I thought I would make one more card for the Fall and here it is.

First, I used a stamp from Stamping Bella and colored it with Copic markers.  I then cut it out using a Nested Wacky Stitched Square frame from Cottage Cutz.  The image was then placed on pattern paper and a white card base.  Then, the fun began using these gorgeous flowers found at Secret Garden Crafts--English Roses, Cottage Roses, Sweetheart Blossoms and Mulberry Paper Lily Roses.  The sentiment was cut with word dies by Tim Holtz.  A couple of rhinestones, diecut leaves and twine add the finishing touches.

I hope you like this card and these beautiful flowers.  They and a wonderful assortment of other flowers can be found here at Secret Garden Crafts.  Please also take some time to stop by the Secret Garden Crafts blog to see what amazing projects my fellow design team friends have come up with.  Also, shipping is free with any order of $20 or more.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments.  Enjoy the rest of the week!

Christmas Greetings

Hi everyone!  For those of us in the States who celebrated Thanksgiving this past Thursday, I hope you had a happy one and are recovering from all that turkey!!

Today, I am sharing a sweet tag made from Maja Design's Vintage Frost Basics 6x6 paper pad.  Oh, how I love this beautiful collection of papers.  Since I have a love of anything related to Winter, this collection is right up my alley!

Beginning with a premade tag, I covered the front and back with pattern paper and then cut a couple of other papers along with the sweet image to layer on top.  All papers were inked and distressed around the edges.  Cheesecloth and bits of laces were tucked here and there.  The flowers and wooden tree and snowflakes are from Recollections.  The sentiment was also cut from one of the papers.  A lace and twine bow with silver bells was tied at the top of the tag.  A couple of crystal rhinestones were added for some sparkle.

Well, that's it for me today.  I will be back again on Wednesday for my next post for Secret Garden Crafts.  Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind comments.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Winter Card

Hi friends!  It is a blustery, chilly day here today.  I love it!  Winter and Christmas are fast approaching so it is time for me to start making some cards for the holidays.  I always fall short and probably will again this year!  The card I'm sharing today, though, was actually made a couple of months ago.  I received some beautiful items in a swap and used them to create this card.

Beginning with a white cardstock base, I simply took some of the papers and trims I was given and layered them onto the card.  The only things I added were some cheesecloth, twine, diecut fern branches and the word "winter" which was diecut from silver cardstock.  I used some of the gingham ribbon I was sent to wrap around the tiny spool.  Silver Stickles was applied to the branches.

Well, there you have it--the first card I made for the season.  I do have several others lined up to share in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned!

This week brings the Thanksgiving holiday to those of up in the States so I am wishing everyone a wonderful day.  There are also many ways to help those who are not so fortunate so please remember them in whatever way you can.

Thank you, friends, for stopping by and for the sweet comments you leave.  I am very grateful for each and every one of you whom I have met through this wonderful crafting community.

For You Card for Secret Garden Crafts

Happy Wednesday, friends!  Today is a new design team post at the Secret Garden Crafts blog and here is the card I made.

Oh my goodness, I love this new collection from Stamperia called "Sweet Christmas."  As you can see, though, this collection is versatile for any occasion.  I started with a white cardstock base and then layered two sheets of paper from the collection, inking and distressing.  Everything was attached to the papers with foam tape for dimension.  I tied a piece of white lace around the side of the papers.  Next, I cut an image from the papers of the little girl and placed a delicate die from Memory Box on top of it.  The "For You" sentiment was also cut from the papers.  I made a cluster of Cottage Roses, Tea Roses and Sweetheart Roses onto diecut flowers in the lower right corner.  I placed some Minature Sweetheart Blossoms in the girls hair and a Sweetheart Blossom in the lace bow.

Please stop by the Secret Garden Crafts blog to see what beautiful creations my fellow design team members have made.  Also, please remember there is free shipping on any $20 or more purchase from the shop.  Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me and for your kind comments.  Have a wonderful day!

Altered Paintbrush for Secret Garden Crafts

Hi friends!  Today, I have a different project than what I usually share.  My fellow design team members at Secret Garden Crafts and I were challenged to alter a paintbrush.  Here is my take on it.

For this project, I chose a small 1 inch size paintbrush.  I painted the handle in an off-white color.  A green leaf vine was wrapped around the handle and two lacey trims around the brush.  A pretty applique accented with a large pearl was placed on top the lace.  Next came the beautiful flowers from Secret Garden Crafts--Cottage Roses and Blooming Buds.  Gesso was added for a shabby look.  Two satin butterflies were placed among the flowers as well as a strand of pearls.  A lovely pink seam binding bow was tied at the top.

This was quite an easy project to do.  Please take some time to visit the Secret Garden Crafts blog to see what beautiful projects my fellow design team members created.  Also, please visit the Secret Garden Crafts shop to see all the gorgeous flowers available.  There is free shipping for all orders $20 and over.  Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of the week!

Fabric Post Card

Hi there, everyone!  Here we are already into the month of November.  It's hard to believe the holidays are fast approaching!

Today, I have another first for me to share--a fabric post card.  I was surprised how easily it came together.  No sewing required--just glue!

I began by cutting a piece of felt measuring 4x6 inches and then covered the front with a lacy fabric.  For the back, I cut a piece of muslin to size and then stamped the post card elements in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  The image of the lady was backed with batting and edged with ruffled lace and pearls.  Bridal appliques were placed next.  A fancy lace trim was glued across the bottom.  A pretty pink and white lace trim was added around the edges.  Then came the fabric flowers and the acrylic leaves.  A beautiful butterfly applique was placed at the top.

On the back, I added some braided trim around the edges.

Well, that's it for me today.  Thank you so much for your kind comments and for taking the time to stop by.  Please come back again on Wednesday to see my next post for Secret Garden Crafts.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Dear Friend Tag for Secret Garden Crafts

Hello friends!  I'm back today to share a tag I made for Secret Garden Crafts.  I love working with the beautiful assortment of flowers you can find there.  Here is what I made for this week.

For the background of the tag, I used papers from Prima's Princess collection and Craft & You White Days.  The edges were inked and distressed.  A journaling card from the Prima collection was placed on top.  I made a little frame edged in lace to showcase the White Days paper, a sentiment banner, and a butterfly made from the paper.  All layers have pieces of cardboard under them to add height.  I also tucked in pieces of lace and appliques under the papers.  Several layers of laces were placed across the bottom of the tag.  Next came all the wonderful assortment of flowers and leaves from Secret Garden Crafts--Bourbon Roses, Cottage Roses, Wild Rosebuds, Sweetheart Blossoms, Blooming Buds, Spiral Stamens, and two-tone Mulberry Paper Leaves.  A pretty jewel piece, flatback pearls and seam binding finish the tag.

I hope you like this tag and all those gorgeous flowers and products to be found at Secret Garden Crafts.  Just a reminder that there is free shipping on all orders $20 and over.  Please take some time to visit the blog to see what beautiful projects have been created by the rest of the design team.  Have a wonderful day!
