Yellow Butterfly/Flower Tag

Hi everyone!  What a week this has been!  We were hit with a brief, but severe, storm Tuesday that left our little town and some of the surrounding area without power.  Ours was out for three days.  Ice was hard to come by, so we had to throw most of the food away from the refrigerator.  Our town declared a disaster emergency.  I must say the people pulled together to help where they could.  There were a lot of uprooted and split trees as well as property damage from the straight-line winds.  Fortunately, no one was seriously injured from this.  Most of the power is back on but there are still some outages.

On a brighter note, I have a tag to share using everything Prima except the lace trim at the bottom.  The paper is from the Tea Thyme collection.

It was very simple to make.  After creating the tag base with the patterned paper, I layered a Prima diecut doily and some fussy cut flowers on top.  Next came the flower embellishments and the sparkly butterfly.  A couple of pearls, lace and ribbon were added to finish it off.

I love making tags.  They come together so quickly.  Of course, using Prima products makes it so easy!

Well, that's it for me today.  I hope the week ahead is a wonderful one for all of us.  Thank you so much for coming by.  I appreciate each comment you leave.

Happy Father's Day 2015

Hi friends!  Today is Father's Day and I wish a very happy one to all the dads out there as well as the men who act as dads to those without one.  In honor of the day, I made this card for my own Dad using just about everything Tim Holtz.

First, I began with a cardstock base of Frayed Burlap paper.  I then adhered a piece of paper from the Wallflower collection.  I highlighted the paper with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, the rays stencil, and Golden's Pearl Mica Flake for sparkle.  A bit of cheesecloth was tucked under the Spring Greenery diecut leaf branches cut from Crowded Attic paper.  The Bird Silhouette was diecut also from Crowded Attic, inked with shades of Tumbled Glass, Vintage Photo, and Black Soot, and attached with foam dots.  Using Crowded Attic stickers and foam dots, I spelled out the word "DAD" in the upper left corner.  The rhinestones in the lower right corner are from Recollections.  Of course, I couldn't resist adding a little bow to the bird!

My Dad really liked this card which made me happy.  I struggle making masculine cards, but I did enjoy this one.

Have a wonderful day and week ahead!  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and also for your sweet comments.  It's hot and humid again here today, so I'm wherever it's cool!

Tea Thyme Paper Tag

Hi friends!  I hope you are well.  We are in the midst of a heat wave and I'm not liking it.  Heat and humidity zap my energy.  But, it does make me appreciate the change of seasons so much!

In my quest to start using papers I've been hoarding because they are just "too pretty" to cut, I came across these gorgeous Prima Tea Thyme papers that I won as part of a giveaway awhile ago.  I also had a beautiful Prima butterfly and flower set (who knows how long I've had it) that I thought matched perfectly.

I decided to create a tag with the paper.  I did a bit of fussy cutting from the patterned paper of the roses, leaves and label and simply adhered them to the tag.  The flowers and butterfly were placed next.  The flower was accented with leaves from a Prima die.   A piece of crochet lace was added to the bottom of the tag and a satin piece of ribbon to the top.  Tiny pink pearls add a finishing touch.  If you click on each photo, you can see it in larger detail.

And there you have it.  The tag came together so quick and easy.  I made another one in this same style but with different colors that I'll share another time.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for the sweet comments you leave.  I appreciate each and every one.  Have a wonderful week!

Get Well Card Using Graphic 45

Recently, I was asked to make a get well card for someone and to include butterflies.  I immediately thought of Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments line, and this is what I made.

Beginning with a white cardstock base, I layered two sheets of patterned paper on top.  I accented the second sheet with a string of pearls.  The QuicKutz doily edges were given an aged look with a bit of ink.  A decorative strip of paper was placed over the doily.  The Prima flowers were accented with Recollections rhinestones and a hemp bow.  The butterflies were fussy cut from the paper and accented with Stickles.  A sentiment was stamped onto the tag whose daisy centers were highlighted with Stickles, and tiny chipboard circles were placed in four corners.

It's a pretty day outside today.  I just finished pruning some bushes and weeding the flower bed.  After I finish ironing, I think I'll catch up on some reading.  I hope the week ahead is a wonderful one for you.  Thanks so much for stopping by and also for your sweet comments.  I appreciate it!
