Sweet Pumpkin Card

Happy November, friends!  And what a beautiful start to the month it is!  Love the chill in the air along with the sunny skies.  I spent some time today helping my Dad trim the bushes in his yard and do some raking.  Love this time of year!  I have a couple of doctor appointments this week and am hoping to get some things resolved and praying that all will be well.

My card that I'm sharing today uses a stamp and sentiment set called "November Girl" by Unity Stamp Co.  She is colored with Copic markers and given some sparkle with Wink of Stella on the pumpkins and Stickles elsewhere.  The pattern paper is from Authentique's Pleasant Collection.  The brown shimmer cardstock is from DCWV.  The sequins are an autumn mix from Studio Katia.  If you click on the photo, you can see the details a bit better.

I've used this stamp set before and love it.  It is so perfect for this time of the year.  I am using it with a Thanksgiving sentiment inside.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by.  I appreciate the sweet comments that have been left.  Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!  Enjoy every moment!

Birdhouse Card

Hello all!  It's a rainy, windy day here, but I love these kind of days.  To me, it makes me just want to snuggle under a blanket with a hot cup of tea or cocoa and enjoy a good book or movie.

Today, I am sharing a card made with beautiful papers from Lemoncraft.  The sweet birdhouse is a Magnolia DooHickey die.  All other items are from my stash.

I know this card isn't seasonal, but I hope you enjoy it anyway.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.  I really appreciate the kind comments left.  I hope you have a wonderful day and all good things coming your way in the future.

Heart of Gratitude Card

Hi there, everyone.  It's been awhile since I posted and I have some things I made months ago to share.  Activity on this blog hasn't been good.  I'm wondering if my posts need to be more interesting.  I don't know how to do that!

Here is a card I made awhile back using a stamps from Unity Stamp Company.  I know a lot of people do not care for stamps without a face but I like them as they are different.

The image was colored with Copic markers with Stickles added for sparkle.  I layered a piece of pink ribbon on top of a lace border die cut from Tim Holtz.  A few sequins were scattered about for additional sparkle.  Unfortunately, I do not remember what paper I used for the background but I think it may be from Prima.

A little update regarding my health issues post surgery is that some issues still remain.  I'm hoping that all will resolve in due time as God sees fit.  It does no good to worry.  Things could be worse!

Thank you to those who left comments on my last post.  I appreciate each and every one of them.  I also appreciate anyone who takes the time to visit this blog.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

Shabby Happy Birthday Tag

Hello there!  Just a quick update on my surgery.  It's been almost three weeks.  My neck is healing well.  I have just been dealing with some strange side effects; namely, numbness in toes and odd muscle spasms.  The surgeon said it has nothing to do with my calcium levels but that maybe it is a side effect from the anesthesia.  I somehow do not think it would last this long.  I'm trying not to stress about it but would like to have an answer.  We will see.

On a lighter note, I have a tag that I made quite awhile ago that I do not believe I have shared yet.  Here it is.

The papers I used are from Pion Design's "Life is Peachy" collection.  I love the soft shades and sweet images that make up these papers.  The flowers and lace are from my stash.  Some of the flowers are Prima.  The beautiful butterfly and chipboard are from Reneabouquets.  I used a vintage button to attach the birthday ticket.  To finish things off, a bit of lace trim and pearls were tied at the top.

If you click on each image, you can see the details better.  Since Fall is almost here, I'm glad I posted this springlike tag now!

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by and visit as well as for the sweet comments that were left on my previous post.  I hope things are going well for you wherever you are on this planet.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a wonderful new week ahead!

Birdhouse Tag

Hi friends!  I do not believe I've ever shared this tag I made several months ago, so here it is.

The papers for the background are from Lemoncraft "Forget-Me-Not."  All the flowers, embellishments and lace are from my stash.  The sweet 3-D birdhouse is a Magnolia DooHickey die.

Here, you can see the dimension from the side view.  If you click on each photo, you can see a larger view of the details.

That's about all for me today.  I do have one favor to ask of you and that is to keep me in your prayers as I undergo parathyroid gland surgery on Tuesday.  I do appreciate it!  As the time grows closer, my anxiety mounts.  I am doing my best to stay positive but those nagging thoughts do get in my way!   I am a big baby!

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.  Here in my neck of the woods, we are having a break from the heat and humidity finally.  It is most enjoyable!  Have a most wonderful week ahead!

Today is Your Day

Hello friends!  Just thought I'd pop in with a quick post.  Today is my birthday.  I am so grateful to have reached this point in life.  I do have surgery coming up in the near future but am hopeful for good results.  In the meantime, I am enjoying spending time with my sweet little grandson.  What a blessing!

Today's card was made a few months ago for a sister-in-law's birthday.  I am just getting around to sharing it!

The beautiful stamp and sentiment are from Unity Stamp Company and was colored with Copic markers.  I used some Wink of Stella and Diamond Stickles to add sparkle here and there.  I don't remember was paper I used but I am thinking it is from Prima.  I added a few sequins for extra sparkle.  If you click on the photo, you may be able to see the sparkle better.

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by and for your kind comments.  Enjoy the weekend and have a wonderful week ahead!

Butterfly Tag

Hi there!  It's been very hot and humid here these days and I am so thankful for air conditioning!  Summer is not my favorite season, so I'm just biding my time until the Fall!

Today, I have a tag to share that I had not gotten around to post.  This is one of my all-time favorite tags, so I hope you like it.

The base is a heavy chipboard tag by Tim Holtz and is covered in paper from Prima's "Lavender" collection.  Then the layering began using various pieces of lace and flowers.  The resin angels are from Melissa Frances and the beautiful butterflies are from Reneabouquets

This tag was a joy to put together.  Plus, it is about time to use up all the pretty trims and embellishments I have been hoarding!

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by and visit.  I am always happy to see when someone comments.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

Finally a Card Share

Hello there, dear friends!  It's been a good while since I posted.  I don't seem to get many views anymore but I thought I would pop in again.  I'm still trying to navigate the new computer we have with Windows 10.  I uploaded photos and could not find them.  I gave it a try again today and had a difficult time locating them but finally did.  So, without further ado, here are a couple of cards I made for Mother's Day.  Yes, they are late, but better late than never.  The sentiments can be changed out to suit other occasions.

The pattern paper and the butterfly are from Prima's Love Story collection.  I used an embossing folder on white cardstock.  The flowers are also Prima that have been in my stash for quite awhile.
The sentiment is from Recollections.  A hemp bow was tucked into the flower cluster.

My next card again uses paper and flowers by Prima.  The diecut corner is from a Tim Holtz die.

Well, friends, that is about it for me today.  Hopefully, I will be back sooner with more cards and tags since I already have them edited and ready to go!  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.  I do appreciate your sweet comments.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

hippity hoppity

Hi friends!  It's been awhile since my last post.  Things have been pretty busy around here and I just haven't had much mojo to create new cards.  However, I did whip up a couple of Easter cards this past week.  The first one is made with predominately all Tim Holtz products.

I love this cottontail bunny!  The pattern paper is from the Wallflower collection and cut with a stitched oval die.  The new wildflower dies were colored with Distress Markers.  The black mat is embossed but it is hard to see.  I used the stitched border die to create a frame around the mat.  All edges were highlighted with Distress Ink.  A bit of cotton was added to the tail.  Hippity hoppity is from a set of Tim's sentiment stamps.

Next up is a card made from Pion Design's Easter Greetings collection.  I kept it fairly simple for my mother as she doesn't like a lot of frills on a card.

All papers and border strips are from the collection.  The leaf swirls are a Cheery Lynn die.  Crochet lace, flatback pearls, seam binding bow and Stickle accents are the finishing touches.

Last, but not least, I end this post with a photo of my sweet grandson and his first visit to the Easter Bunny.  Thanks so much for stopping by and your kind comments.  Happy Easter to those who celebrate.

A Full Heart

Hi friends!  It is with much joy that I announce the arrival of our first grandbaby, Logan Stephen, on March 14, weighing in at 9 lbs. 3 oz.

To celebrate the happy occasion, I made a card for the new parents as well as a shadowbox keepsake.

The image is from Stampingbella and is colored with Copic markers.  I added some Diamond Dust around the edges.  The papers are from Authentique.  Everything else was in my stash.

The shadowbox was a bit difficult to photograph because of the glass.  I was trying to avoid a glare.  The adorable image and sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co., Phyllis Harris.  The hearts are popped up with foam dots.  I used Distress Ink to watercolor the image.

As you can imagine, we are over the moon with happiness.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.  I hope to get back to crafting a bit soon.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

Hugs

Hi all!  Just a quick post and update today.  My mom is receiving at home physical and occupational therapy and is improving a bit.  Small steps are most welcome!  Last weekend was the shower for my future grandbaby; however, the mother-to-be had a kidney stone attack and was unable to attend.  After a stressful couple of days and ER visits, she and the baby are doing well and looking forward to a delivery sometime this month!

My card today features a Picket Fence stamp "Jill" which I colored with Copic markers and highlighted with Stickles.  A very simple card to make.

Pattern paper is Sugarblush by Recollections.  I used a 3-D snowflake embossing folder by Sizzix for the area behind the stamped image.  The image has a matching die which I used and added pop dots for dimension.  The pink paper is also Recollections.  The diecut snowflakes and pearls were in my stash.

We are awaiting a rain/sleet/snow/rain/snow event starting this afternoon.  We have had several small snowstorms the past couple of weeks which I most welcomed as we had basically nothing much before that!  The snow is usually gone for the most part 24 hours later.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I look forward always to your kind comments.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

Valentine's Day Card

Hi everyone!  I'm back today with a quick post to share a card for Valentine's Day made with beautiful paper and an image from Pion Design.

Everything else comes from my stash of supplies.  I am trying to use up things I have been saving for something special, whatever that was supposed to be!  Time to make use of things!

It is a very simple card.  I did use some Stickles to highlight the image and added some Distress Glitter to the edges of the image.

That's about it for today.  I don't know how often I'll be popping in with a post or to visit blogs.  My Mom is having some medical issues, and the time is fast approaching when I will become a first-time grandparent so there isn't a lot of free time these days.  Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments.  I always look forward to them.  I hope to be back soon.

Shabby Chic Tag

Hi everyone!  Where does the time go?  February will be here at the end of the week.  Since I retired early, the days have been going incredibly fast!

My tag today features papers from Prima's Love Story collection.  The dressform, beautiful lace trim at the bottom of the tag, and the butterfly are from Reneabouquets.  Some flowers are from Crafty City and some are from my stash.  The pretty brooch on the dressform was a gift.

Here are a couple of side views of the tag.  Click on each photo to get a larger view.

I loved making this tag and I hope you like it.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I appreciate each of your sweet comments.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

Thank You Card

Happy New Year, even if a little late!  Here's hoping 2019 is a good year.  We got some long-awaited snow overnight--only about two inches, but I'll take it.

Today, I have a card I made as a thank you for a Christmas gift.  The background paper is from Prima's Misty Rose collection.  Everything else are items from my stash.  The diecuts were made awhile ago and kept in a container for quick use.  I thought it was time to start using up these things.

The flowers and leaves are from Crafty City.  I have a beautiful assortment of flowers that I have been saving for something special.  What that something special would be, I have no idea so time to use them up!

If you click on each photo, you can see the details a bit better.

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by and for the kind comments you leave.  My plan today is to make a nice big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup and some cornbread muffins.  Nice comfort food on a cold, snowy day!  Have a wonderful week ahead!
