At a Loss for a Title

I don't know about you, but I do not find it easy to come up with titles for my blog posts.  I admire the catchy ones other bloggers always manage to come up with.  I wish I had that knack!  If you have any hints to share, please let me know.

Can you believe July is almost over?  I managed to spend some time yesterday organizing my scrap supplies.  I think I've mentioned before that I do not have a dedicated scraproom, so I have to store my supplies in the basement.  I do have several scrap carts, but other things are in boxes.  Makes it hard sometimes to remember where certain things are but I'm trying to develop a more organized system.  I do my crafting at our dining table, so many trips are made up and down the stairs bringing what I need to the table.  At least, it's a way for me to get some exercise, too!  lol

Since it's summer, I decided to make a card with summery colors.  This is what I came up with:

The card base is premade from DCWV.  The pretty pattern papers are from Prima's Madeline line.  I matted a Martha Stewart tag onto some blue paper and placed a Recollections butterfly in the center.  I then folded two Prima flowers in half and attached them to the sides of the tag.  Some lime green pom-pom trim from Crate Paper was adhered across the card.  I then stamped a PTI sentiment in the lower right corner.

Before I go, I have to share this wonderful giveaway the amazingly talented Ingvild Bolme is having on her blog http://ingvildbolme.com/ .  As you can see here, it is a treasure of items!  You have until August 31 to enter.

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your week!

50 Shades of Green

Hey there, everyone!  This past week has gone by so quickly.  After some intense days of heat, we got some much needed rain on Friday which was a perfect day to stay indoors and spend the time crafting.  Today, I actually have two cards to share with you using various shades of green.

Up first is a card using papers from Glitz.  I used a glittered DCWV premade card for the base.  After attaching the Glitz pattern paper, I punched a lace border onto a strip of green Glitz paper and glued a piece of white ribbon with black dashes to the lacey border.  I took some Prima flowers, spritzed them with Smooch spray in vanilla, attached a Creative Imaginations brad and adhered it to the ribbon.  A stamped sentiment was added to a tag and accented with some little Queen & Co green pearls.

The second card is my favorite of the two.  I started out with a cream Recollections premade card as the base.  The papers are from Pink Paislee 6x6 Queen Bee line.  Again, I used the Martha Stewart lace punch to create two lacy borders, tied a cream satin bow around the card and attached a Recollections charm to the bow.  A PTI sentiment was stamped to the lower right side of the card with VersaFine black ink and a Prima swirl finished it off.

I'm looking at this second card and the colors appear to be more yellow in the photo.  In person, it is more a yellowish green.

I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my cards today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Make A Wish and a Winner

Hi everyone!  I hope the past week has been a good one for all.  I got to spend some time on Friday to make some more cards.  Sometimes, I only have enough creative juices for one card but was able to make several in a short period of time.  That makes me happy to get lost in making things to hopefully brighten someone's day.

The card I made today uses MME Lost & Found 6x6 paper and layered chipboard.  I cut a piece of floral paper to the size I wanted.  Then, I spritzed a doily with Tattered Angels Sand Glimmer Mist and put it under a pink gingham pennant.  I wrapped some hemp around the card twice and then glued it to a Recollections premade card.  The pretty chipboard piece was then placed on top of the pennant, tied the hemp in a double bow, stamped a PTI sentiment to a tag and glued it and a crocheted flower to the bow.  Last but not least, I inked the edges of the card with Jumbo Java Versa Magic ink.

I want to thank all of you who left me such sweet messages on the first anniversary of this blog.  I do appreciate each and every one of you and hope you will continue to stop by here to visit and leave a message.  And now for the winner of my first blogversary and giveaway...Audrey Pettit!   Congratulations, Audrey!  Send me an e-mail and I will get your gift mailed to you.

And again, thank you to all the sweet friends I have made since starting this blog.  I hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Where Was I Going With This?

Hey there!  The weekend is winding up and finally a much needed break in our heat wave ( if you call 88 degrees cooler).  Certainly are the lazy, hazy days of summer!

Today's card isn't quite what I intended.  I cut it apart, pieced it together, unglued things and this is what I ended up with:

And from a different angle...

Originally, I started out with a cream card base.  I took a pretty Webster's Pages circular diecut, folded it in half and attached it over the card fold.  I glued some brown Webster's lace around the curve and then took some green Webster's trim and adhered that on top of the lace.  I then cut the cream card base away from the circular diecut on the front of the card.   The green birdcage is a Webster's Fabric Thread and the little brown flower is one of their Whimsees.  I stamped a PTI sentiment to the tag and adhered in with pearls and rhinestones from Recollections.  But I wasn't happy with that, so I carefully cut the diecut from the cream card base.  I cut a piece of Bazzill sage green cardstock and attached it to the back of the diecut.  To cover the joint, I just tied a piece of brown ribbon around it.  A Martha Stewart punch was used on the corners.  And see that flower?  That was made with an EK punch.  You were supposed to use a strip of 12 inch paper, punch it and roll it up.  However, I used an 8 inch strip.  The flower would have been a perfectly round circle shape, but I kind of like the imperfect shape of it.  And that's probably the only thing I like about this card!  lol  A lot of work but I'm not happy with it.  Maybe I'll take it apart again!

Enjoy the week ahead!  Just a reminder that my blogversary giveaway is still open until the 14th (see post below).

Blogversary and Giveaway

Happy July 1!  Today is the first anniversary of this little old blog.  I can't believe it has been a year already!  For someone who isn't really good with the computer, I have learned quite a lot for me in this past year but know that I have a lot more skill that needs to be developed.  I wanted to create a card to show my appreciation to all of you who take the time to stop by and visit.  Here is what I came up with.

The base is Coredinations cardstock in Butternut Cream and distressed with Antique Linen ink.  The pretty paper is from Little Yellow Bicycle.  I then adhered a seam binding bow and cream colored lace to the card.  I coated a Tattered Angels frame in Mod Podge and Martha Stewart glitter.  The tag is stamped with a PTI sentiment in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and I used a MS lace punch on the edge.  The flower is from Recollections with two Maya Road heart trinket pins.  A bit of twine and a couple of buttons finish it off.  I hope you like it!

Now, to celebrate my anniversary, I would like to give a little gift to someone.  All you need to do is leave a comment on this post and be a follower of this blog.  I will choose someone on July 14 which is the date that I actually figured out how to upload my projects.  Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you will continue to visit!
