Happy Card

Hi Everyone!  We were once again forecast a measurable snowfall, but again, nothing.  Some people are, of course, happy about that.  I, for one, am not.  Looks like I'll have to wait for next winter!

Today, I have a card to share that I made for my husband's birthday last month.  Masculine cards are very difficult for me to make.  I tend to gravitate to flowers and bows which is what happened here.  But, I don't think it turned out too feminine.

Recollections kraft cardstock was used as the card base.  The pattern papers are from Farm House Paper Company.  I used a punch to create the banner and glued it to a piece of hemp.  Rhinestones from Michael's were placed between each pennant.  The alphabet stickers, ruler border and label are from October Afternoon.  Another piece of hemp was tied into a bow through a Dear Lizzy button and placed in the center of a Prima flower.  Sentiment is from PTI.  I really love the papers and was pleased with how the card turned out.

Thank you for your sweet comments and best wishes for my health.  It seems I have a pinched nerve and started medication today to get rid of the inflammation.  If this doesn't work, then I will need physical therapy.  Here's hoping it doesn't go that far!  It has been uncomfortable.  I don't have time for this--lol!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.  Hope to  be back soon.  As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Hi Pat,

Masculine card is harder to make for me too. I like the colors combo. Yes, I am one of those who is happy with no snow. My kids wanted snow too. Hope you'll feel better soon.

Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my blog - I really appreciate it :) The hearts that I used on my card are actually from a Pink Paislee die-cut package (the 'Sweet Love' series).

  6. HI..This card looks lovely, and I too have difficulty with male cards.. t is so easy to put flowers on everything!

  7. So sorry to hear your neck is still a problem. Hope the medication gets things under control. I ended up having todo 6 weeks of physical therapy when I pulled my neck....and it's still a mess. Wishing better for you!
Love your fun birthday card! Masculine, but still with a few fun flourishes, which totally works! Love the kraft and the banner, too!
    Happy weekend!
