You make some wonderfully sweet friends in the blog world, and one of them is ReNae Allen at
Crabtree Creations. ReNae recently held a Halloween cardmaking class. ReNae is in Kansas City and I am in Pennsylvania, so it would not be possible for me to attend the classs. I admired the cards that would be made and she graciously sent me the kits to play along. Plus, she made me feel a part of the class by telephone and texting photos as she and the other girls worked on their cards. My family and I were leaving for Disney World early the next morning so I thought I would only be able to finish one; however, I finished all four! Thank you, ReNae, for your thoughtfulness and including me in the class. Here are my finished cards.
ReNae sent along some German Scrap for two of the cards. I had never seen it before. It is very delicate and adds an intricate touch to the cards (you can see it on the last two cards). The witch on the broom is a diecut by Tim Holtz which ReNae made self-adhesive. How about those pumpkin buttons for the flower centers? ReNae puchased the ornate frame on the third card from a bargain bin at Michael's and painted it black. I really enjoyed being part of this long-distance cardmaking class.
Happy Halloween, everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Oh, these are so fabulous, Patty! Love the vintage images and the Tim Holtz witch. Fun touches of glitter and trim. Totally adore that frame ReNae found and painted black. So nice you were able to join in on this class!
ReplyDeleteMy Dear Patty,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your kind words! You did such a beautiful job on these cards, and they look great! I am very grateful to you for your support of my classes! I do so enjoy designing cards, and putting the kit together for you was a treat! I hope to have my Holiday card classes up on my blog next week. I hope you will be able to join us again! It was a lot of fun for my other students to have you in class, albeit long distance!
Hugs, ReNae
Wow!!! Gorgeous Halloween cards! So full of vintage goodness...well done! And, I hope you and family have lots of fun at Disney World!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Patty: So sweet of your friend to send you the kits for these Halloween cards. They all came out great, but I think my fav is the little witch with the lacey borders. By the way, thanks for leaving the nice comment on my blog. I haven't stamped since last spring - it's almost like learning all over again, especially Tim's techniques.
