Playing with Dies

Let me begin by apologizing for the photos in this post.  I'm having technical difficulties with the computer I usually use to make a blog post.  I'm using a laptop with Windows 8 and, apparently, it doesn't have photo editing options.  I am not computer savvy, but I think I have to install some type of editing program.  As you can see, I couldn't zoom in or rotate the photo.  Hopefully, I'll figure it out soon.

I recently received two dies--Catalina Wreath by Memory Box and Butterfly Edge by Joy Crafts--and couldn't wait to use them.  I think they are so beautiful!  I used Graphic 45 Secret Garden papers and also did a bit of fussy cutting.  Various sizes of rhinestones were added to the wreath for sparkle.

Again, I apologize for these photos but you can click each one for a closer look.  It's been a trying week here.  My husband was admitted to the hospital last Monday night with severe upper abdominal pain.  He has gall bladder stones and is scheduled for surgery tomorrow.  He hasn't been allowed to have anything to eat or drink since he was admitted as they are trying to resolve the inflammation.  Hopefully, things will go well and he'll be home soon.

Have a wonderful week!  Thanks so much for stopping by and for the comments you leave.

  1. Hi Patty, I hope things are going well with your hubby. Your card looks lovely and those dies are so pretty. I use pic monkey for editing, if you google it it is easy to find and reasonably easy to work too. If your photo is on your computer then you can up load it to pic monkey edit it then save the edited photo on your computer to put on your blog post. Hope this helps. Take care.

  2. Oh, Patty, I'm so sorry to hear the news about your hubby! Just saw your photo on FB this morning....sure hope he feels better SOON! And sorry about your computer issues. That's the last thing you need at a time like this. I know nothing about Windows 8...:( But there are free photo editing programs out there, if that helps any.
Your card is really beautiful! What intricate and elegant die cuts. Love how you have the butterflies going off the edge!

  8. Hi, Patty :)! First of all, I'm so sorry to hear of the troubles with your husband. I hope he is recovering well <3

I LOVE your card...dies really can add that something extra to make a project complete. Gorgeous. And I feel you on the computer issues...I recently had a ton of trouble with my photo editing software and it took me over a week to figure it out. NOT FUN.

    Take care :)
