Butterfly Chase

It's a hot, humid day outside today, and I'm grateful for the cool comfort of being indoors.  You may have noticed that I love my Joy Crafts butterfly die and I've used it once again on today's card.

Recently, I picked up a 6x6 paper pad of Prima's Printery papers.  I love the aged look of them.  This card was so easy to make.  It began with a base of black cardstock and the butterfly edge inked with tea dye Distress Ink.  The bow was made with tea-stained twill from Melissa Phillips.  I made the tag from another sheet of the Printery paper and attached a Recollections butterfly and pearls to dress it up.  Prima flowers were tucked under the tag and a couple of vintage buttons attached to the upper right corner.

If you click on each photo, you can view them in a larger size.  When I saw the words "Butterfly Chase" on this paper, I knew I had to pair it with that die and the jeweled butterfly.  Some things just seem to come so easily together, and I hope you like this.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!  I do enjoy reading your sweet comments.  Have a wonderful week!

C'est la Vie

Another week has gone by so quickly!  Time does seem to fly.  Life can be so hectic at times, but I make it a point to take some time each week to work on a craft project.  It is my way of relaxing and something I enjoy so much.

Today's card was made with various papers from the Melissa Frances C'est la Vie 6x6 paper pad.  I love the soft, shabby chic colors and patterns of these papers.

Each pattern paper was layered onto white cardstock.  A simple seam binding bow was tied around the smaller panel.  A scalloped circular sticker from this collection was adhered to cardstock for support and attached with foam tape.  I stamped a sentiment onto it and highlighted it with a circle of pearls from Prima.  The tiny butterflies were made with a Martha Stewart punch from the same papers, edges inked and little pearls added to them.  A small piece of white crocheted trim was glued across the bottom.  At this point, I felt the card needed something else, so I added the pretty Joy Crafts butterfly diecut to the side.

I hope everything is going well for you.  Thank you so much for stopping by and your kind comments.  Have a wonderful week!

Faeries Thank You

Hi everyone!  I hope all is going well with you.  It's been a busy week for me, but I did take some time and went shopping for new craft supplies.  I can't wait to work with what I bought and share them here.

Today, I have a thank you card I made using just about everything Prima.  The papers are from the Nature Garden collection and the cute stamped image is from Fairy Rhymes.  I cut apart a Prima swirl to accent the larger flower and bow and added a couple of the pearls to the stamped image.

A Martha Stewart doily was cut in half and placed at the top and bottom of the fairy image which was raised a bit with foam tape.  I lightly colored the faeries with pencils and highlighted their wings with gold Stickles.  A seam binding bow finished it off.

Have a wonderful week!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I do enjoy reading your comments and appreciate them.

80th Birthday Card

One of my aunt's recently celebrated her 80th birthday, so I made this card especially for her.

Some of the patterned papers I found in my stash and do not know what company they are from.  However, the journaling card, flowers and chipboard are from Recollections.  Once again, I used the pretty Catalina Wreath from Memory Box (love it!).  The gold number stickers are from Making Memories.  Foam tape gives a bit of dimension between the layers, and a sheer gold bow adds a finishing touch.

Today is an absolutely beautiful day after several days in the 90s.  Another heat wave is expected in a few days, so I am enjoying this respite while it lasts.  I hope everything is going well for you.  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and the sweet comments you leave.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
