Heart Anniversary Card

Hi friends!  Yesterday, we had about 5 to 6 inches of snow followed by a coating of ice.  Note to self:  When having back problems, don't go and shovel snow.  Need I say more?  Anyway, today, we are above freezing so some of the snow should melt before the re-freeze tonight.

Today's card was quick and easy.  I wanted to make an anniversary card for my dear sister- and brother-in law that could be mailed flat.  It is difficult for me not to make a bulky card.  While this card was for an anniversary, the heart design could also be for Valentine's Day.

The base of the card is red cardstock.  I used a Tim Holtz' Springtime Background and Borders Set  embossing folder on white cardstock.  The red chipboard heart was in my stash.  The dimensional butterfly is Martha Stewart, the gold beads are Michael's, and the tiny ribbon flower cluster is from Joann's.

For the inside of the card, I used two borders from the set on white cardstock with a stamped sentiment from Kathy Davis.  Such a simple way to dress up the inside of a card!

What projects are you working on?  With this bitterly cold and snowy weather, I have been spending some extra time crafting, in particular, working on my first mini album using a 12x12 piece of cardstock.  I hope to share it soon.

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.  I look forward to all your kind comments.  Have a wonderful week!

Romance Tag

Hi everyone!  It's a balmy 9 degrees Fahrenheit here today with strong winds.  We had only an inch or so of snow last night--just enough for treacherous driving conditions due to icing.  I was a nervous wreck waiting for my son to get home from work late last night.  Fortunately, he made it home safely.

Valentine's Day was yesterday.  I received roses from my husband as well as a bit of a shopping spree at an online craft store.  I opted for that over dinner out--I figured the craft supplies will last longer!

While making my Valentine cards this year, I had some leftover hearts that I cut from a Tim Holtz die and thought I would use them on this tag.  If you click on each image, you can see the details better.

The patterned papers are from Prima's Romance Novel collection and were layered onto a kraft tag.  I fussy cut the roses and tags on the lower left.  I layered the hearts slightly off onto the die cut kraft hearts.  The hearts and fussy cut roses were adhered with foam squares for dimension.  I added Prima roses to the centers of each heart.  The rhinestones are from Recollections, and the tea-stained twill is from my sweet friend Melissa Phillips.

I think this tag could be used for just about any occasion besides Valentine's Day.  I really love that Tim Holtz die!  I am linking this tag to the Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.  I appreciate all your kind comments.  Have a wonderful week!

A Couple of Valentine Cards

Hi everyone!  We have an overcast day here today with moderate temperatures but will be back with colder temperatures tomorrow.  I have a turkey roasting in the oven, so I thought I'd take the time to  share a couple of Valentine cards.

I pulled out my Tim Holtz large postage frame, heart and small postage stamp dies.  I love these dies!  The base of the card is kraft cardstock layered with K&Co papers.  A piece of cream crochet lace was placed on the left side.  The sentiment card is from Crafty Secrets and was among some things sent to me from my stamping friend, Sharon.  You can visit her blog here.  The heart was inked in Tattered Rose and Tea Dye Distress Inks.  I stamped a tiny postage stamp image onto the tiny kraft stamp.  The little flowers are Prima but I'm not sure where the larger one is from.

Next up is a card made with papers from Recollections.  The diecut heart and ribbon are from Sharon also.

The tiny hearts were done with a Heidi Swapp stencil, modeling paste and glitter.  The key is from Recollections, and the heat-shaped pearls in the center of the large heart are Prima.

Once again, I used the Tim Holtz large postage frame die as a base for the card.  On the envelope, I just added a strip of Recollections washi tape and a tiny rosebud.

Another wonderful blog to visit is SWG Original Designs.  Linda is having a blog giveaway which is open until February 28.  If you click on her blog candy link, you can enter to win her fantastic prize.

Valentine's Day will be here in less than a week, so I wish a very happy one to each and every one of you.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I appreciate all your sweet comments.

Valentine Tags

Hi friends!  It is an overcast, chilly day here with snow/sleet/freezing rain/rain/snow expected tonight and tomorrow.  Quite a mixed bag!  Here in the States, it is Super Bowl Sunday but, frankly, my only interest is the half-time show.

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I thought I'd better start making some crafts for the occasion.  Today, I have two tags to share.  Each one uses some old K&Co diecuts I've had in my stash for quite awhile.

I used pre-made tags for the base of each one with a heart doily from Hallmark under the diecuts.  Foam dots were placed under some of the diecuts for dimension.  Some of the images already had touches of glitter.  A piece of lace from Prima finishes this one off.

The next tag follows the same pattern as above.  I simply added a piece of something called "All Seasons Festooning by Bethany Lowe Designs" across the bottom and a piece of sheer ribbon with a flower at the top.

These precut images made these tags super fast and easy to put together.  Plus, it helped me use a lot of older things in my stash!

If you click on each image, you can see the glitter touches on each which, I think, really catches the eye.

I also made a couple of cards which I'll share another time.  I do have a couple more to make before the 14th gets here.  Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!  Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments.
