Prima Doll Tag

Hi everyone!  Well, summer is almost at an end and I am seeing hints of fall here and there.  I love the fall season with the warm, cozy feelings it brings.  It's been a bit stressful lately for me but I am trying to look on the bright side.  One thing that always makes me happy is my craft time each week.  I find it a most relaxing time when I make something.

Today, I have another tag to share featuring a Julie Nutting doll stamp.  At the time, she was the only doll stamp I had but I've since acquired a couple more and can't wait to use them.

For the background of the tag, I used Prima's Butterfly collection paper and a Heidi Swapp heart stencil.  I added a bit of glitter to the hearts to give them sparkle.  The doll was colored with Copics and her outfit was paper pieced.  I added some rhinestones to her dress and a bit of glitter to her slip.  The butterfly wings are from Recollections.  Once again, I used an older Prima vine which I glued to the left side.  The little wooden birds on the vine are from Recollections also.  I simply inked them up a bit.  The lace trim at the bottom, I think, is Prima.  A couple of butterflies were cut with a Martha Stewart punch, accented with rhinestones, and added to the upper right.

Here, you can see that I raised the doll up from the paper with some foam squares.  A bit of ribbon at the top finishes it off.

Well, that's about it for today.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by and the sweet comments you leave.

Vintage Tag

Hi everyone!  It's been a beautiful weekend here.  I hope you are enjoying some relaxing time.  I've been working on a lot of tags lately for a swap and have a new one to share today.

Once again, I used things I've been hoarding to make this tag.  The background paper is an older K&Co line that I inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  The flowers, leaves and pearl swirls are Prima.  I believe the frame around the vintage image is from Tattered Angels, but I'm not sure.  I did give it a coat of glitter for sparkle.  The wooden clock and lace trim are Recollections.  The lace tie at the top was from the bargain bin at Joann's.

And there you have it.  Time to use up things instead of saving them.  Plus, it clears the way for new items!

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.  Thanks so much for stopping by and your sweet comments.

Meadow Lark Tag

Hi there, friends!  It's a wickedly hot/humid week coming up here and I am so thankful for air conditioning.  In my last post, I mentioned problems with the new Windows 10 we installed on the computer.  After trying several suggestions that did not work, we solved the problem by uninstalling Windows 10 and going back to Windows 7.  What a difference!  I guess it's true--if it isn't broke, don't fix it.

Recently, I was the recipient of a wonderful RAK that included papers from Prima's Meadow Lark collection.  They are so pretty, so I decided to make a tag with them.

Just about everything Prima was used for the tag.  The edge of this tag is a bit different in that I fussy cut the left side so that the flower hang off the edge.  I then inked the edges with Ingvild Bolme Vintage Pink chalk ink.  I highlighted some flower centers in the paper design with Stickles.  An assortment of pretty Prima flowers and leaves were placed in the lower right corner with a twine bow.  I placed a couple of Prima pearl clusters in the centers of some of the flowers.  A pearl and rhinestone swirl was added to the background.  A birdcage diecut from a friend that I touched up with a bit of Inka Gold was tucked into the flower cluster.  I then fussy cut and inked a bird from another sheet of paper and attached it to the tag with foam dots.  A tea-stained piece of ribbon from Melissa Phillips and a piece of lace were tied to the top of the tag.

That's about it for me today.  I'm staying indoors where it is cool and probably do some crafting (after I iron clothes and before I make dinner).  Thank you so much for stopping by and the kind comments you leave.  I hope the week ahead is wonderful for everyone.

Another Pink Tag

Hi everyone!  I hope the past week has been a good one for you.  Thank you very much for the birthday wishes.  I was able to do some crafty birthday shopping one day last week.

Today, I have a quick and easy tag to share.  It was made using a banner and layered diecut from Anna Griffin.  The background paper is from Echo Park and was placed on a pre-made shipping tag.

A little piece of cheesecloth was tucked under the diecut and a couple of Recollections rhinestones were added as a finishing touch.

I have a question for those who are computer savvy (which I am not).  We upgraded to Windows 10.  I loaded some photos and edited them under this new program.  However, when I try to link them to my blog post, I can't find them.  When I choose a folder, they are not there.  I do see them on a desktop app but don't know how to connect them so I can use them in a post.  I would appreciate any help and hope I haven't confused you with my explanation.  The photos used today were uploaded a few weeks ago, so those files I can still access.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week!

Flat Cards - Part 2

Hi everyone and Happy August!  This month pretty much is the wind down of summer; and since I'm a fall/winter person, I can't say I'm sad.  One nice thing for me in August is that it is my birthday, which tends to get spread out through the whole month!

Anyway, today, I have a few more of the flat (or almost flat) cards I made at a friend's request to share.

Once again, I used a Julie Nutting doll stamp, paper piecing and colored with Copics on this card and the one below.  I used vellum frames and dimensional stickers from K&Co.  Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

I also used some Liquid Pearl accents on each card.

The card above was fun to make using an older set of Papertrey Ink stamps and then adding the vellum frame and diecut sticker.

What have you been making these days?  I have been busy making a lot of tags for a swap that I'm in, and it has been so much fun.  I have received some beautiful tags in return.  It is enjoyable to see the details of others' work in person.

Well, that's all for me today.  I have an extra short work week this week as I'm taking a bit of time to enjoy my birthday and relax.  It's been an extremely stressful time for me lately, so I'm looking forward to the diversion.  Thanks so much for stopping by and the sweet comments you leave.  Have a wonderful week and enjoy every minute!
