Days of Winter Tag

Except for a bit of flurries, we still haven't had any snow here.  Part of that is due to the unseasonably mild temperatures we have had.  However, winter is trying to make an appearance as the temperatures are finally dipping.  We are supposed to have snow flurries this afternoon but not any accumulation.  I am trying to be patient as I do love snow!

That being said, I created this tag using Pion Design's Days of Winter papers.  I love these papers--plus I get a bit of snow in my life!  If you click on the photo, you can see the details better.

Just look at that sweet scene!  I began by layering some leftover scraps of paper onto a kraft tag.  The Prima doily was given a coat of white Wink of Stella.  A bit of crochet trim was placed at the bottom (or side, as I decided to make the scene on a side angle).  Distress Glitter in Pumice Stone was placed around the image and mounted to the tag on a piece of cardboard.  A couple of rhinestones were added to the upper right corner of the image.  Snowflake stickers by Jolee's were added for some more sparkle.  A seam binding bow and star charm finishes it off.

Well, that it for me today.  I wasn't able to get in much craft time this past week, so I'm hoping to catch up a little on it today.  Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog.  I do appreciate your sweet comments.  Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

  2. Stunning tag Patty, those Pion papers are so wonderful, love that little image you used! The bits of glitter give it just the right amount of wintry sparkle. We had our first snow yesterday, but today it has pretty much melted already again....

  3. Hi Patty: Really like this one! The vintage image of the children pulling the dog is precious, along with the wintry, sparkly elements. Nice Prima doily too!
We got 43 cm's (approx. 17") of snow here in Nova Scotia through Saturday night, however with the winds drifting the snow, it was up over the hood of our car! Have sent you some pictures. Another storm is expected next weekend so we are in full winter mode here.

  6. Oh, what a stunning tag, Patty! I love the soft colors and papers and love that sweet vintage image! Adore how you designed the tag on the side. So different and a bit of unexpected fun. Gorgeous trim and doily, too, and love that star charm!
Hope you get some real snow soon! We had a tiny bit the other day... but nothing stuck. Sure was pretty to watch it coming down anyway!
