Summer is trying to arrive too early for me. After a couple of days in the 80s, today is a bit cooler in the 60s. However, we are back to the 80s again tomorrow but the 60s by the end of the week. The seasons no longer seem to have the weather patterns they are supposed to have.
Today, I have another first for me--a pin cushion project. After watching a couple of tutorials on You Tube, I decided to give one a try. No sewing is involved--all put together with glue.
To begin, I cut two circles from a piece of fabric. A mound of batting was put in the center of one circle with the second circle on top and gluing the edge closed. A strip of lace and an applique were glued across the center. Various pieces of ruffled trim were glued around the edge. Fabric flowers were added for some interest. I added some handmade stickpins--they are not very good (I need more practice!).

One More
Hi friends. I hope the past week has been a good one. For me, work continues to be challenging. By the time I get home, I'm so worn out. But, enough of that!
Today, I am squeezing in one more Easter card made from Pion Design's Easter Greetings papers. This one is probably my favorite that I made with this collection.
Beginning with a white cardstock base, I distressed and inked a couple of the papers and layered them onto the card. The tag was cut from one of the sheets and layered onto another piece of paper. I used punches to create the hole and reinforcer at the top of the tag and then tied a seam binding bow though it. The tag was attached to the card with foam tape. I tucked some cheesecloth underneath it and some vines cut with a Cheery Lynn die. Crochet trim was placed across the bottom. The flowers are from my stash and were given a coat of gesso. The sentiment was cut from the papers. Lastly, I created some splatters on the card with a mixture of gesso and water.
It's a beautiful spring day here today with cool temperatures and a picture-perfect sky. My husband and I took a nice long walk as it is a perfect day for doing so.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I appreciate your sweet comments. Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!

Happy Easter Card 2017
Happy Easter! It has been a very warm day today with record temperatures. It will be a bit more seasonable tomorrow and the next couple of days. We had a busy day visiting relatives. I am now looking for some relaxing time this evening.
My card today features papers from Pion Design's Easter Greetings collection. I love the soft colors and sweet images in this collection.
The base was made from lavender colored cardstock. The top scalloped edge was made with a Martha Stewart punch. All paper edges were inked and distressed. I added some lace trim to peek out from under the layers. The image was cut with a Tim Holtz stitched oval die and then framed with a Spellbinders die. The Recollections flowers were given a coat of gesso to soften the color. Vintage buttons and seam binding were added for a more shabby feel. The banner sentiment was cut from the papers. I gave a touch of yellow Stickles to the flowers and the tiny chick.
I decided to dress up the envelope a bit by placing a decorative lace/pearl trim down the side with an egg shape cut from the papers. The edge of the egg was inked and distressed. I added a bit of purple flower trim to the egg for decoration.
Well, that's about it for me today. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a wonderful week ahead.

Live Life to the Full
Hi there! Feeling a bit under the weather this past week but I have this springlike tag to share reminding us how important it is to life life to the full.
The paper I used for the background is from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection. The pretty lace trim and ruffles around the edges of the tag help to showcase the pattern paper. Purple trim and pearls were added to the ruffles. The lovely flowers were a gift to me. I accented them with diecut leaves and vines from Prima and Cheery Lynn. A double layer butterfly by Spellbinders peeks out of the flower cluster. The sentiment is stamped on another diecut and framed with a Prima pearl circle. A cluster of pearls from Recollections sits above the ruffled trim. Lavender seam binding bows were placed on either side of the ruffled trim and a piece of the same seam binding was tied to the top.
It is hard to believe that Easter is next Sunday. The weather is turning very warm this week, so I guess it's time to put the winter clothes away! I also need to get a start on spring cleaning.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind comments. I hope everyone has an enjoyable week ahead and remember to Live Life to the Full!

Shabby Chic Fabric Tag
Can you believe it is April already? This week promises to have many April Showers in the forecast. After a rainy start to the weekend, today is sunny and crisp.
My project today is my first attempt at a fabric tag. It is a larger size tag. No sewing involved. Everything was attached with FabricTac glue.
For the base, I glued two pieces of felt together and then covered it in a lacy fabric. I used two pieces of felt to provide a sturdier base. A ruffled trim was added to the edges. Next came various other pieces of lace and trims around the edge. Appliques were glued to the tag. Then, the embellishing began. The flowers, frame and butterfly are from Prima. A seam binding bow was placed at the bottom accented with a pearl cluster. Little leaf-like pearl accents were placed at each corner. A seam binding loop was attached to the back for hanging.
You may notice that the ruffled trim has an iridescent quality to it. Gives the tag some added sparkle.
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by. I appreciate the kind comments you leave. Wishing everyone a relaxing Sunday and an enjoyable week ahead!
