It's Memorial Day weekend here in the States which gives us a holiday on Monday to honor those who lost their lives in service to this country. We are having a small BBQ with family today. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate.
Today, I have a tag to share using a fancy-shaped die from Sizzix. I cut the base from two coordinating sheets of paper by Blue Fern for the front and back of the tag. I used a vintage image in a resin frame as the focal point. Cheesecloth is tucked underneath. The frame is surrounded by various flowers (some Prima), diecut Prima leaves, and a bit of a Prima pearl swirl. The top is capped off with a bow and a Prima embellishment.
This tag was very quick and easy to make. I love the soft colors. I did add a touch of gesso to the flowers for a shabby look.
Well, that's it for me today. I haven't been feeling great due to a lot of stress that is starting to affect my health, so I hope the long weekend will help me de-stress. I thank each of you for taking the time to stop by and for your very kind comments. I appreciate them and you! Have a wonderful week ahead.

Shabby Fabric Tag
Hi there! I hope the past week has been a good one for everyone. Yesterday, my cousin's daughter got married. The wedding was beautiful. I will be sharing the card I made for her at my cousin's request sometime in the near future. Today, however, I am sharing a shabby fabric tag.
I began by cutting a piece of felt into the shape of a tag and covering it with a canvas-like piece of shabby chic fabric I bought on clearance at Michael's. Using various appliques and lace trims, I layered them around the tag. Taking an image of a young girl from the Internet, I edged the photo in lace and added some tiny vintage buttons. A wooden timepiece by Recollections was tucked under the photo frame. A ribbon flower and some glittered leaves from my stash were added next. Another piece of lace trim was tied to the top as a finishing touch.
Well, that's it for me today. I got very little sleep last night and am starting to feel very sleepy. I think I'll take a nap! Thank you so much for stopping by. I do appreciate your very sweet comments. Have a wonderful week ahead!

Mother's Day 2017
Hi there! Happy Mother's Day to those celebrating today. I'm a bit late in posting as I was enjoying the beautiful day we had today and spending time with my own dear mother and son. I do have a couple of cards to share that I made for today.
First is a card I gave to my wonderful Mom. The papers and flowers are from Recollections. I added a doily and pearls from my stash. The stamped word "Mother" is from Papertrey Ink.
This card as well as the second one came together so quickly using the matching papers, journaling cards/sentiments, and flowers.
For my second card, I again used Recollections papers as well as a sentiment card, self-adhesive glitter tape and roses. Both cards have gold foiled papers. The pretty double layer butterflies were made with dies by Spellbinders.
This card was made for one of my aunts who is also my godmother.
Well, that's it for me today. I took a day off from work tomorrow and am looking forward to some crafting time. Thanks so much for stopping by. I appreciate your kind comments. Have a wonderful week ahead!

Altered Embroidery Hoop
Back again with another first for me--an altered embroidery hoop. It really came together rather quickly once I got started.
First, I began by giving the hoop two coats of white paint to help cover up any wood that might show through. Next, I stretched a piece of pretty embroidered fabric between the hoops, trimming the excess close to the edge. Using a sweet vintage image from the Internet, I glued a delicate trim around the photo. Then, began the layering of all the lacy trims, appliques and fabric flowers. Did you notice the pretty bird by Prima at the lower right corner of the image?
There you have it! All done using glue--no sewing required. I purchased an extra hoop so I may whip up another one soon.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate your sweet comments. It's a crisp day here today and I love it! Have a wonderful week ahead!
