Love Card

Hi there!  We are having heavy rain today--why can't it be snow?  Just about every time precipitation moves into the area, the temperature goes up and we get rain.  As soon as it leaves, the temperatures get cold again.

Valentine's Day is this Wednesday and I put together a quick card for the occasion.  I hope you like it.

When I saw this die and embossing folder set by Recollections, I just had to get it.  I began by layering pattern paper from an older line by Recollections onto red cardstock which, in turn, was set onto a white card base.  The sweet image from My Besties was colored with Copic markers and attached to the card with foam squares.  I applied a bit of Glossy Accents to her eye and some Stickles to her flowers.  A piece of white hemp was threaded through the banner and accented with gold enamel dots.  The embossed heart, also included in the set, was cut from the same red cardstock as the banner.  I used the X's and hearts from the banner at the bottom of the card.

There you have it.  Just a short post from me today.  Thank you so much for taking time to stop by.  I appreciate all your sweet comments.  I hope the week ahead is a wonderful one for everyone.  Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day!

  5. So adorable! Great colors and love the embossing, and that image is so cute. I really like how you added the twine and dots to the banner, and brought down the die cut letters, too. Happy Valentines Day! Oh, nothing but rain here, also. Hot, then, cold, and lots and lots of rain.

  7. What a fun and adorable card Patty! Your young lass has so much character, amazing colouring! I love her glossy eye and shimmery flowers! What a great embossing folder pattern, so perfect for the occasion!!

It's been a pretty busy time around here as I work to get everything started for my first season working with baby squirrels! On one hand, I am so excited to be a part of something so special and important. On the other hand, I'm so worried about all the things that can go wrong. These helpless little babies who have lost their Mom, are gonna be relying on me to care for them...Yikes, no pressure! Hope all is well in your corner of the world. sending hugs :)

  9. Well, I just wrote a nice long comment, and the power went out. Let's try again...This card is so sweet! I love how you've colored the little girl and glossed her eye. And that banner is the perfect embellishment; how clever to use the hugs and kisses at the bottom. Great layering!

I swear you live right down the street! We have the same weather patterns as you. Precip, temp rises, precip moves out, temps lower to freezing or below. We even get rain when the temps are below freezing! Frustrates the daylights out of me! Well, the daffodils are blooming now, so I hope it stays warm. Sending warm, humid hugs!
