Love You Card

Hi friends!  We had an early visit from summer this weekend for two days with temperatures in the 80s.  Today, however, is a raw, rainy and windy day with temperatures in the 40s!  Our seasons are way off anymore!

Recently, I was one of the lucky winners in the Magnolia Sunbeam bloghop.  My prize was a new Tilda stamp and a sweet umbrella die.  I was absolutely thrilled and couldn't wait to use them.  I have a couple of the Tilda stamps and dies but they are a bit difficult to find here in the States, so I was most happy to add these to my collection.  I decided to make a Mother's Day card with my prizes.

The card shape was made with a Sizzix die.  The papers are from Bo Bunny.  I placed a Prima doily as well as a Wilton doily between the layers.  The image was colored with Copics.  I stamped a postal mark around Tilda and accented with Frantage.  You can see the sweet umbrella next to Tilda.  The large flower, branch and butterflies are from Magnolia. The other flowers are from my stash and accented with Stickles.  The sentiment was stamped on a Papertrey Ink tiny tag.

The pink seam binding bow is attached to a removable tag also from Magnolia.  I managed to incorporate all my Magnolia dies onto this one card!

Believe it or not, it took me several days to make this card!  Of course, I only worked on it for an hour or two each time.  I plan to give this card to my mother for Mother's Day.

I want to thank you so much for taking time to visit my blog and for your kind comments.  I am noticing that comments to my blog are decreasing.  I realize that it is time consuming to leave a message on blogs.  I wonder if my posts are just not interesting.  Well, we'll see what happens in the near future.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

  5. Awww, this is so, so adorable, Patty! I love your new little Tilda doll, and I absolutely love all the layers and details on your card! Such a fun shape, and I think it's so creative how you added the pull out tag element. Your mom will love it! <3
Sounds like you are having the exact same weather as us... from 80 this weekend, back down into grey gloomy 40. As soon as I think spring has arrived, she flies away again.

  8. Patty, this shaped card really is sa-weet! I love the colors you've chosen, and the papers are gorgeous paired with your beautifully colored image and fluffy bow. The doilies and the pull out tag make for a very interesting design. My favorite is the umbrella die cut. Congratulations on your win and it looks like you scored BIG!

Again, we follow the same weather pattern. Yesterday was in the 80's, but it was quite pleasant. That followed about a week of really COLD days, and the cooler weather starts again tomorrow. The annual garden tour was not nearly as colorful this year as last.

As for comments, I am seeing much less than in the past, too. Your posts are VERY interesting. I think people are moving to Facebook, Twitter and the other social medias. As for my commenting, I am slow, and I no longer can follow my blog list. My computer only gets internet at the kitchen table, and my hubby seems to have increased his TV watching here. I find it terribly distracting. I always have to visit blogs first thing in the morning before work. Sending hugs your way!

  9. I agree about the weather - summer last week, chilly spring (just about) today. And yes, you're right about blog-care winding down. People seem to prefer a quick "like" on Facebook to leaving comments.... I'll never be a Facebooker - I loathe it and all it stands for - but even I've been so busy with other things that both my own blog and my blog visiting have been sorely neglected.

Love your sweet card - you've put those lucky winnings to great use - the umbrella is just adorable!

  10. Beautiful card Patty! Love the round base, and that fun tag tucked in there! Your image is so amazing, you sure do have some mad colouring skills!!

I agree about the weather, it has been getting more and more unpredictable. Pretty soon, the seasons will just all run together into a mishmash of nasty!! lol.

I have also noticed the drop in commenting and I'm guilty of it myself. I find it just too time consuming, so I have limited myself to just a few select people who I really enjoy visiting. It's so much easier to just post a pic on Instagram or Facebook, it doesn't require hours and hours of effort like blogging does. That's just me any way. (Your posts are very interesting and your work is beautiful, that's why I'm here my friend). hugs :)

  11. Gorgeous card and Tilda is so beautifully coloured. I think we are all noticing a drop in comments on our blog and I find at times due to my health I fall behind and just try to keep up via Instagram when that’s possible. Please don’t think it’s a personal thing as many blog friends say the same. I always enjoy my visits to your blog when I can.
    Hugs xx
