Christmas Joy

I can hardly believe it is almost the new year!  We've had a wonderful holiday.  Today, I have one last Christmas card to share and a winter-themed card.

This card uses a lot of the Sweet Season line from Webster's Pages such as the paper, journaling card, bloomer, fabric trim, stickers and sparkler.  I added a Martha Stewart doiley that I glittered and put behind the journaling card.  I also added some Liquid Pearls around the frame on the journaling card.
Unfortunately, there was no white Christmas for us this year.  I do love snow (not particularly driving in it but from the comfort of home)!  This next card conveys my feelings!

I used DCWV cardstock here.  It is hard to see but I sprayed Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Mist over a Tattered Angels snowflake mask onto the green cardstock.  I cut the snowflakes from a Brenda Walton snowflake silhouette, attached it with foam squares, and embellished it with Recollection rhinestones, ribbon, bells, and a Let it Snow tag.  I then added some random K&Co snowflakes stickers to the card.
Now, I am hoping you can help me with a problem I have with losing my photos on my camera card once I upload them.  I cannot figure out why.  Does anyone have a solution for me?  It never happened before but now is all of a sudden.

I do hope everyone has had a happy Christmas holiday and wish you all the best in the new year!  Thanks for stopping by.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Decorations are done, some cookies are made, some presents are wrapped, and some cards have been mailed.  Still need to finish wrapping, addressing cards and do  a bit more baking.  I'm a bit behind in these preparations, but it will all be done by Christmas Eve.

I did manage to take some time to create a couple of cards.  I hope to squeeze in some cardmaking time over these next couple of days to make a few more.  My son has asked me to make a card for him to give to a girl he likes--I'm flattered!

Up first are two cards I made using some older Brenda Walton papers, snow globe sticker and chipboard.

It was difficult to photograph this card without getting some glare on the snow globe.  I used an EK scallop punch on the paper to form a frame for the globe.  I then put some Recollections gold beads around the globe as well as some red rhinestones on the tiny stars and added some glittered star stickers from K&Company.  The globe is topped off with a red bow, baker's twine and two tiny gold bells.

Here, I layered the Noel chipboard on top of another scalloped circle I punched from the Brenda Walton paper and put that on top of a gold Wilton doily.  I used pop-up dots by 3M to give it some dimension and then finished it off with some gold Recollections beads.
My final card uses some old Melissa Frances papers I found in my stash.  I also used a Martha Stewart embossed snowflake punch, lace, buttons, twine and a little gold bell.  The tag is stamped with a PTI sentiment--I love those tiny-sized stamps.

Well, that's it for today.  I hope to be back again before Christmas with a few more creations.  I do want to take the time to thank everyone for their sweet comments.  I appreciate each and every one!

December Birthdays

I have two cards to share today.  I will be in Williamsburg this weekend to see the holiday decorations with some of my family.  I have a dear cousin who will be turning 40 while we are there, so I plan to give this first card to her.

I used K&Co Julianne paper, Martha Stewart doily spritzed with Smooch Sprtiz vanilla shimmer, Jolee's boutique satin flower, PTI stamp, Recollection pearls, and Making Memories stickers.

This next card is for a good friend of mine whose birthday is just before Christmas.

This card also uses K&Co Julianne papers, Martha Stewart punch, PTI stamp, stickpin made by me, and a Recollection pearl swirl.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to have some Christmas cards to post after I get back from Williamsburg.  Have a great week!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Happy December!  I just love this time of the year!  We spent a good bit of time over the weekend decorating for Christmas.  And I spent a good bit of time today finishing it up while baking cookies.

I have a project to share today.  I bought these wooden snowflakes at Michael's to give as gifts (or keep for myself!).  First, I painted both sides white and then used VersaMagic chalk ink in Jumbo Java to distress the edges.  I then applied Martha Stewart coarse glitter to each and added K&Co stickers to the centers.  I gave a coat of Glossy Accents to the vintage images to add some dimension.

Here are the unfinished snowflakes.

This one I added some Recollections rhinestones, silver-wired ribbon, and a little silver bell attached with twine.

I love the delicate shape of this one so kept the embellishing to a minimum.

And this one was finished off with a little red bow, gold and silver jingle bells and red and white twine.

I apologize for the poor quality of the photos.  I had a difficult time photographing the glitter.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Thanksgiving

Just taking a break from my Thanksgiving preparations to wish all my US family and friends a very Happy Thanksgiving.  I am thankful for you all as well as those who stop by to visit my little blog as I consider you friends also even though we may never have met.  Many blessings to everyone!

I have a card to share today.  I used K&Co papers, a Martha Stewart doiley and punch, pearls from Recollections, and a beautiful crocheted flower made by my friend Helen Liu.  The tag was given to me among an assortment of others from my sweet SIL Anabelle, and the stamp is Papertrey Ink.  The photos may not be that great as we had a few days of rainy weather, so it was hard to get a good shot.

Have a wonderful day!

A Shabby Thanksgiving at The Shabby Tea Room

The girls over at The Shabby Tea Room have 'A Shabby Thanksgiving' challenge going on this week.  The colors to use are brown, yellow, blue and neutrals.  I created this card using more of Making Memories Autumn Splendor line.  The only things not MM are the kraft cardstock base (Recollections), twine and buttons.  The card sketch design I used is from Gabrielle Pollaco.  I plan to submit this card to this week's challenge at the Tea Room.  It's the first time I've ever entered a challenge.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

Happy Halloween (tomorrow)

Just wanted to pop in with a Halloween card I made using some things I've had for awhile.  I'm not sure who the paper is from.  The label is from Recollections that I adhered to cream cardstock and cut around the shape to give it some dimension.  The little purple witch hat brad on the bow is from Queen & Co.  The metal Boo word is attached with brads all by Hot Off the Press.  The little bats on the label are from Crafty Secrets.  I love how the lime green ribbon makes the card pop.  Have a happy and safe Halloween tomorrow!

Autumn Birthdays

We are having an early taste of winter here today with freezing rain and snow.  I had to go out yesterday and buy boots when I heard the forecast as I gave mine away last year.  Anyway, I have two cards to share with you today.

I recently purchased a pack of Recollections kraft cardstock and used it as the base for the two cards.  I didn't think I would like using kraft cardstock, but I'm pleasantly surprised how much I like how it looks!  Paper, golden leaves and wooden tag are from Making Memories Autumn Splendor line, Martha Stewart doiley spritzed with English Ivy Glimmer Mist,  and gold pearls are Recollections.

This card also uses MM papers and leaf accented with gold Stickles, Martha Stewart doiley spritzed with Glimmer Mist, tag from Anabelle O'Malley stamped with sentiment from Papertrey Ink, and flower by Recollections.

Last, I'm sharing a photo of the little guy Jasper after his recent grooming appointment.  He got his hair cut, a bit short for the weather today!  Thanks for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments.

Fall Tradition

For the past nine years, my dear SIL Anabelle and I get together each October and visit a local orchard to enjoy the fall decorations and activities with our boys.  Freshmade apple cider and cider donuts always come home with us.  Here are a few photos from our visit last Saturday.

Michael and Ryan in front of one of the many fall displays.

Anabelle and I with some beautiful mums.

We always make sure to get a photo of all of us together.
Later, we went to dinner, shopped at Michael's, and got some ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery.

Anabelle put together a sweet scrappy kit for me (she's always so thoughtful), and I made this card with some of the goodies.  The papers are Anna Griffin, the flowers are Petaloo spritzed with some Glimmer Mist (S.W.A.K. and English Ivy), and some Recollections crystals.  Thanks for stopping by!

World Card Making Day - Part 2

I really wasn't too happy with the cards I made yesterday, so I thought I'd give it another try today.  This card uses K&Co Julianne paper, a Martha Stewart doily spritzed with a little sand Glimmer Mist, Jolee flower, Zva crystals, PaperTrey Ink sentiment, and lace from Joann Fabrics.

Weather is really gloomy here today.  I'm glad I cleared out the flower beds and trimmed bushes yesterday.  I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday.  Thanks for stopping by.

World Card Making Day

Today was a beautiful fall day!  I decided to make a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup.  Thought it would go perfectly with some warm, crusty bread.  While the chicken was cooking and since it is World Card Making Day, I took some time and made two fall theme cards.

This card was made using paper from  Making Memories' Autumn Splendor line as well as the diecut, ribbon and wooden tag.  I used a bit of hemp to attach the wooden tag.

This card also uses Making Memories paper, ribbon and leaves.  The tag and pearl are from Recollections, and the stamped sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink.

I apologize for the somewhat lopsided cropped photos.  I still haven't gotten the hang of loading and editing the photos.  My son helps me get this far.  I think I need to take a class!  TFL  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Twilight Fans--Can't Wait for This!

Fall is in the Air

I woke up to a beautiful day today!  A taste of fall was in the air.  It was wonderful to open all the windows and let the fresh air blow through.  I know summer will be back in a couple of days, but today was a welcome change.

I felt like making a card today but had trouble thinking of a design.  I seem to do the same thing a lot.  Recently, I picked up a copy of PaperCrafts' "Card Ideas for Paper Crafters" and found a sketch by Windy Robinson that I thought I would try.  Here's what I came up with.

I used K&Co Julianne papers here.  I used a Martha Stewart punch on the floral paper to create the border.  Also used were Zva pearls, Inkadinkado clear stamp, a Recollections blank card, Glue Dots adhesives, lace, blue organza bow, twine and a flower.  TFL

"Tea Time"

After the stress of dealing with an earthquake and hurricane in less than a week, I took some time to relax and created this layout.  The photo was from a Mother's Day tea that I celebrated with my Mom, an aunt and my cousins.  I love my tea and enjoyed this time spent with family.  Thanks for stopping by!

I used lots of Webster's Pages products here--paper from their Ladies & Gents Tea Time, cameo, heart whimsie, netting and bloomers.  I made the flower around the cameo using toile tissue paper from the tea room's gift shop.  I used the Webster's netting to create a flower around the heart whimsie.  Other products used were Bazzill cardstock, Wilton doily, K&Co chipboard, Ranger liquid pearls and stickles, Zva pearls, Recollections flowers and leaves, and Prima swirl and flowers.

This is a closeup to show the dimension of the cluster of flowers at the bottom of the photo.

Batten Down the Hatches

We're expecting to get hit by Hurricane Irene late Saturday into Sunday.  I do hope it is not as bad as the weather people predict.  Time will tell.  I guess we're as ready as we can be.  Earlier this week, we had a bit of an earthquake.  Too much in one week for me!

Anyway, I have a card to share today.  I challenged myself to use up a box of scraps I had that were too pretty to toss.  I love the paper.  I think it may be K&Co.  Wish I could find more of it.  The white scroll design is raised and feels a bit like felt.  The tag, I think, is Melissa Frances.  Stamp is from Papertrey Ink and rhinestones are from Recollections.  The little bird is from Prima.  The first photo shows the tag in the envelope, and the second photo shows how it looks without the envelope.  TFL

More Birthday Fun

Met up with my sweet sister-in-law Anabelle the other day for lunch to celebrate my birthday, plus I owed her a birthday lunch too.  I just had to share the beautiful gifts she gave me.  I have a collection of Polish Stoneware, so she gave me a butter knife to add to it.  Love the design.  Then she created the most gorgeous box and put it into a beautifully decorated gift bag along with one of her lovely card creations.

Look at how beautifully this is embellished!  I just treasure handmade items so much.

Inside the box, Anabelle filled it with some of her favorite vintage items.  I can't wait to create with these!

My Dad's birthday was on Friday, so I created this card for him.  I used K&Co papers, tags, and flower from the Blue Awning and K-ology collections.  I handcut one of the swirls from the patterned paper and added a bit of Ranger Stickles to it, then added a bit of twine to the tag.

And last but not least, this is for Marlou.  She asked me to post a photo of my sweet little guy, Jasper.  I had to snap this picture.  He actually pulled the pillow over and laid his head on it!

Thanks to everyone who stops by to visit.

Happy Birthday to Me

Today is my birthday as well as President Obama.  I am going to a wonderful smorgasbord in Lancaster County with family.  The whole downstairs of this restaurant is the largest gift shop I have ever seen in my life!  So many unique items.  It's been a stressful couple of weeks, so I am looking forward to going out for the day.

Here are a couple of cards I made.  I need to start writing down the products I used so I can give credit where due.

This card uses DCWV paper, Prima flower, trinket pin made by me, Martha Stewart punch, ribbon from Joann's Fabrics,  and Recollection pearls.

DCWV paper, Martha Steward punch, trinket pin made by me, Papertrey stamp, and Recollection rhinestones used here.

I love this card!  My sweet SIL and I recently had a craft night and she let me use some of her supplies.  I used Melissa Frances paper, Prima flower, leaves and lace, as well as Papertrey Ink stamp, Bazzill cardstock.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.  I am so excited to see I have three followers!  I hope to get better at posting.  Have a great day!

Finally--Some Favorite Projects

This first layout is from a friend's son's wedding.  I used lots of Prima goodies as well as some Zva crystals.

This is the first layout I ever made.  It is of my husband, son and me.  I used Webster's Pages paper, Prima flowers and leaves, as well as K & Co.

This layout is of my Mom when she was six years old.  I used Webster's paper and bloomers, Recollections vine, Prima, Zva, and MM.  Also used a vintage flower and some lace from my sweet friend, Audrey Pettit.

This card used Webster's paper.  I cut out the frame and raised it with foam stickers.  Used Prima pearls, flower and shabby seam binding from Debbie Marcinkiewicz.

Still Learning!

So far, I guess this blog is indeed boring!  I am still learning how to upload things and waiting for my son to sit down and guide me through this.  I was so surprised to have two comments already.  I do promise to start showing projects soon.  I'm embarrassed that I'm not very technically savvy, but I'm better than I was!  Please check back periodically.  Hopefully, you'll see some progress here!  lol

I'm Blogging!!!!

I hope this blog isn't boring, but I'm ready to start sharing my creations with the world! Stop back soon.
