A possible major snowstorm is forecast for our area over the next couple of days, and I do hope they are right! I need one good snowstorm at least this winter. We have only been getting a couple of inches here and there. I know most of you probably do not like the snow, but I love the peaceful quiet of fresh fallen snow. With such chilly weather, I made a large pot of homemade chicken noodle soup today to be enjoyed with some warm, crusty bread.
Enough about the weather and food! Today, I have a card and an ATC to share using Prima's Romance 6x6 paper pad.
One of my co-workers recently celebrated a milestone birthday which also happens to be Christmas Day. She is adamant about not receiving Christmas-theme cards or wrappings for her birthday. I did a lot of fussy cutting from the papers to create the cluster layered onto the Wilton doily. I have had the flowers forever. The vine is a Cheery Lynn die and the sparkly dots are from Recollections. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The butterfly was cut from a piece of notepaper.
Next up is an ATC that I made from the leftover pieces of paper used for the card.
The flowers and black pearl swirl are Prima as well as the diecut skeleton leaf (love it!). I added some Stickles and rhinestones to the fussy cut flowers. The little crystal drop attached to the bow is from 7 Gypsies, and the metal corner is from my stash. All edges were distressed and inked.
Well, that's it for me today. I am working on some Valentine projects and hope to share some of them next time. Thank you so very much for taking the time to stop by. I love to read your comments and appreciate receiving them. Enjoy the week ahead!

Distress Style Tags
We woke up today to freezing rain but now it is a steady downpour--a good day to stay in and craft! I have two tags to share that I recently made for a swap. We were to create them in a Tim Holtz style distress/grunge/dark look. These are what I made.
The background on my first tag was created with Distress Inks in peacock feathers, peeled paint and squeezed lemonade. I used some TH seam binding to soak up the leftover ink. The edges of the tag were inked with vintage photo and black soot. Vintage photo was also used on the Tim Holtz clock stencil. Various TH stamps and rub-ons were then added. The butterfly is a Tim Holtz die cut from cardstock layered with a piece of washi tape. A 7 Gypsies bird charm was attached to the seam binding with a TH pin. The metal flower is from Recollections.
The same technique was used on the next tag with Distress Inks in fired brick and wild honey for the background.
The patterned background was created with a Tim Holtz Harlequin stencil and vintage photo ink. The hearts and sentiment stamps are from Dina Wakley. I stamped the hearts in black soot and then gave them a coat of clear embossing powder. The heart charm, key, seam binding and rub-ons are Tim Holtz also. The key is nestled onto pieces of burlap and cheesecloth with some inked Prima roses.
I also stenciled the backs of each tag with Distress Inks but neglected to take a photo of that. If you click on each photo, you may be able to see the pretty shine I gave to each tag using Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold Mist. These were a lot of fun to make.
That's it for me today. I hope you are enjoying the day even if the weather isn't cooperating. Have a wonderful week ahead. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment when you can.

Winter Reindeer
Yes, I know you may be tired of seeing another project from me using this Tim Holtz reindeer die but I love it so! First up is a card I made this past Christmas. (Click on the images for a more detailed view.)
Once again, I used paper from an older My Mind's Eye collection that I absolutely love. I embossed a tag with a snowflake design by Darice, added the deer with foam dots for dimension, a bit of lace and a bow topped with a snowflake. Under the tag, I added wooden snowflakes from Recollections and a bit of cheesecloth. The word "noel" is from Tim Holtz' Holiday Words dies.
Next is a winter tag using the same reindeer diecut that was given a good coat of Martha Stewart glitter.
The tag base was made with leftover paper from the sheet I used on the card. I added some snowflake stickers from Jolee's and Martha Stewart. The pine branches at the bottom (punch from McGill) were given a coat of Stickles. I used a Martha Stewart snowflake border punch for the shape at the bottom. Again, I used another one of the words from Tim's Holiday Words die set. A bit of eyelash yarn was tied to the top of the tag.
What can I say? I love winter. It was fun creating this card and the tag. I promise to share something different the next time! Thank you so much for stopping by and the sweet comments you leave. Have a wonderful week!

Bo Bunny Card
Hi friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the new year. We had a quiet dinner at home with my parents and one of my aunts. I did doze off a bit before the official arrival of 2015!
Recently, I was the fortunate winner of a prize package from a dear blogging friend, Maria Patrick, which included a 6x6 pad of Bo Bunny's Candy Cane Lane papers among other wonderful goodies! I couldn't wait to use these papers in the soft shades of pink and teal, so I immediately set to work on this card.
I wanted to make a card with a little tag/bag on it. The background was created using paper with dots that mimic snowflakes and a border strip from another sheet. The wooden snowflakes (part of the prize) were given a coat of white paint and embellished with felt snowflakes and rhinestones. I stamped a swirl of snowflakes twice on the bag and gave them a coat of Stickles. More felt snowflakes were added to each corner of the card and topped with a rhinestone. Teal hemp was tied around the bag and finished off with a bell.
For the tag, I used a sheet of pastel trees from the collection (so pretty!). The snowman is from Jolee's. A piece of soft pink seam binding was tied to the top of the tag. (You can click on each photo for a closer view.)
It's back to work for me tomorrow after taking some vacation time for the holidays. Thanks for taking time to stop by and for your kind comments. Wishing all a great week ahead!
