Making Flat Cards

Hi everyone!  Recently, I received a request to make 41 flat birthday cards that would not require extra postage.  This was somewhat of a challenge for me as I do love dimension to my cards.  Of course, it does cost extra to mail them.  The first batch of cards I made were fairly simple stamped images that I colored.  As I got into the swing of things, I did add some embellishments that still were somewhat flat and should be good for mailing.  Today, I will share just a few of the cards.

I've had this Julie Nutting doll stamp for awhile now, and this was the first time I used it.  I did a bit of paper piecing and coloring with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.  I used Stickles and Liquid Pearls for a touch of sparkle.  Flowers from Petaloo, diecut doilies from Martha Stewart, and a bit of trims and rhinestones add a small amount of dimension.

Sorry for the poor picture quality on the above.  The little present box stamp and a couple of the stamped sentiments came with the doll stamp.  I also used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

The Stampendous bird stamp on this card was in the clearance bin at Michael's.  I really love this stamp.  I did some light coloring on the bird and added Stickles and Recollections gold gems to his crown.  A little Distress Ink shading was done to the image and the Prima Printery paper.  The burlap flowers and leaves are from Recollections.  If you click on each photo, you can see the details a little better.

I have several more cards to share from this batch that I'll save for another time.  I have developed a liking to the Julie Nutting doll stamps and plan on getting a couple more.

Have a wonderful week!  I do appreciate the comments you leave.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
