Butterfly Bestie Card

Hi friends!  I'm back a day early as I have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow and wanted to get a post up.  I have had a wonderful week filled with surprise blessings.  It is good to focus on the little things in life.

Today's card features a Besties stamp and papers from Prima's Butterfly collection.  Love this color palette.  The base of the card was made from a medium shade of purple cardstock.  The Bestie image was colored with Copics.  I added a tiny Spare Parts flower to the bow of her hair.  I matted another piece of pattern paper as well as the Bestie image in a lighter shade of purple.  A wreath from Memory Box was placed between the two and placed onto the woodgrain paper.  Ribbon roses from Spare Parts were placed along the bottom edge.  The butterfly, rhinestones and roses are from Recollections.

I find I am drawn to the various shades of purple a lot lately, particularly in the softer tones.  It makes a pretty palette for spring.

Well, that's it for me tonight.  I hope you have had a good week and wish the best for everyone in the next week.  Thank you so much for visiting my blog.  I read and appreciate each of your kind comments.  Hugs.

Quick & Easy Get Well Card

Hi friends!  Back today with a short post.  Recently, I needed a quick and easy card for someone battling an illness.  Here is what I made.

Beginning with a white card base, I layered two pieces of pattern paper from my stash.  Along the edge of the floral print, I used an EK punch to give a bit of extra design.  I stamped a sentiment from Papertrey Ink onto chipboard from Recollections.  The flowers are also Recollections.  It is difficult to see here but the beautiful Recollections butterfly is dimensional.  A few rhinestones were added for accent.

And there you have it--super easy and quick!  I was also able to use up more items that have been sitting in my stash of supplies.

Thank you so much stopping by and your sweet comments.  Today is a very pleasant weather day, so I'm going to put the screens in my windows and let the air blow through the house.  Have a wonderful week!

A Day in May Tag

Hi everyone!  Since Winter was pretty much replaced by Spring during its season here, Winter is taking a bit of revenge now that the Spring season is here!  Yesterday, it snowed most of the day.  Since it was a wet snow, accumulations weren't high.  Today, it is very cold.  Seems like the seasons don't know where they belong anymore!

It is no secret how much I love Pion Design papers and really don't like to cut into them!  However, I did make a tag for a swap using A Day in May papers.

I began by inking the edges of a manila tag  with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  Next, I layered a couple of pieces of pattern paper onto the tag.  Martha Stewart Smoky Quartz glitter was applied to the Spellbinders diecut doily.  I cut an image from the papers, attached it to the stripe paper and adhered it with foam tape to the doily.  The flowers and metal embellishment are from Recollections.  The butterflies were fussy cut from the papers.  The vintage button is from my stash.  A bit of vintage lace trim was attached to the bottom of the tag and a seam binding bow was tied at the top.

It was a lot of fun putting this tag together.  Some of you may already do this, but in order to save time, I have started to diecut quite a few different shapes to have on hand when I'm crafting.  It makes the time go faster in putting together a card or tag when these items are all ready to go.

Well, that's it for me today.  It's been a busy weekend, so I haven't had much time to craft.  I did manage to squeeze in some time to stamp a few images to color for future cards.  I hope you are having a good weekend with some crafty time.  Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comments.  Have a wonderful week ahead!

Blueprint Bunny Card

Hi friends!  It's a very windy, chilly day here.  Once again, we are experiencing sew-saw temperatures--chilly one day, warm the next.

Today, my card features a Tim Holtz bunny blueprint stamp.  Even though it may be used primarily for Easter, I think it is adaptable to any occasion.

Let me be the first to admit that my coloring skills on this image are not very good.  I used a combination of watercolor pencils and Copic markers.  The background was too dark, so I tried to lighten it with some modeling paste clouds.  Not really happy with it but didn't have time to make another one.  To enhance the image, I used an old, I believe, Tattered Angels chipboard frame which was given a coat of glitter and distress ink to the edges.  For the card base, I layered a piece of Tim Holtz Wallflower paper onto blue Distress Cardstock.  Across the bottom of the card, I used my new TH lace edge border die.  I then wrapped pink TH string around the card and accented it with flowers from Spare Parts and a hemp bow.  Next, the frame was placed on the card with some cheesecloth underneath.  A butterfly was fussy cut from the paper and highlighted with Stickles.  A kraft Chitchat sticker was placed at the top and a few more flowers were added to the bottom.  I love how the lace edge diecut almost looks like a fence here.

I did use this as an Easter card but I think it would work just as well for a Springtime card.  Next time, I'll need to choose my marker colors more carefully!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.  I appreciate each and every comment.  I love to visit your blogs as well--there is so much inspiration for me out there.  Have a wonderful week ahead.
