Shoreline Treasures Wall Hanging

Hi friends!  It's a long holiday weekend here in the States for 4th of July.  Time for BBQs or trips to the beach.  I'm doing neither!  I am in the midst of enjoying a stress-free, relaxing weekend.  After doing various chores around the house, I have been taking some time to relax by crafting.

Today, I have a wall hanging to share using the beautiful Shoreline Treasures papers from Pion Design.  I love this soft color palette and the sweet images.

The base was cut from a cereal box and covered with the papers.  The edges were inked and distressed.  The chicken wire was cut from cardstock using a Tim Holtz die.  A layer of cheesecloth came next.  The adorable image was attached to a frame cut with a Spellbinders die.  Several banners were cut from the papers using dies by Cheery Lynn and attached under the frame.  A border strip edged with lace was placed under the image.  All the buttons are vintage.  The butterfly was also cut from the papers.  Stickles gave some sparkle to the butterfly, starfish and shell.  I used a piece of rope for hanging.

This hanging was made for a dear friend.  I was happy with how it turned out and hope you like it as well.  If you click on the pictures, you can see the details better.

Thank you so much for stopping by and all the kind comments on my previous post.  I appreciate each and every one.  Have a safe and happy 4th to all those celebrating!

  13. This is super sweet and nostalgic, I admire the soft colors and ephemera you used. I've recently discovered that recycling cardboard packaging makes great supports and this piece is proof of how useful it can be.
