Winter Card

Hi friends!  It is a blustery, chilly day here today.  I love it!  Winter and Christmas are fast approaching so it is time for me to start making some cards for the holidays.  I always fall short and probably will again this year!  The card I'm sharing today, though, was actually made a couple of months ago.  I received some beautiful items in a swap and used them to create this card.

Beginning with a white cardstock base, I simply took some of the papers and trims I was given and layered them onto the card.  The only things I added were some cheesecloth, twine, diecut fern branches and the word "winter" which was diecut from silver cardstock.  I used some of the gingham ribbon I was sent to wrap around the tiny spool.  Silver Stickles was applied to the branches.

Well, there you have it--the first card I made for the season.  I do have several others lined up to share in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned!

This week brings the Thanksgiving holiday to those of up in the States so I am wishing everyone a wonderful day.  There are also many ways to help those who are not so fortunate so please remember them in whatever way you can.

Thank you, friends, for stopping by and for the sweet comments you leave.  I am very grateful for each and every one of you whom I have met through this wonderful crafting community.

  4. Hi Patty, this is just stunning! I love that vintage image and the newsprint background! The metallic accents are so festive and I really love that lace!! So many beautiful details!

Remember I mentioned that you had inspired me to invest some money in some nice laces, well my first order arrived yesterday! 10 different laces and every one of them is my favourite! Keep your eyes open for them!! lol.

So you're getting cold weather finally, that's exciting! It's still raining here. It's too cold outside to sit on the patio, but not cold enough to snow. Not fair! lol hugs :)
