One More for Christmas

Happy New Year's Eve, my friends!  The Christmas holidays once again have flown by.  New Year's Eve is not a favorite of mine.  I guess that is because the decorations are soon put away and everything seems to lose a bit of that cozy, warm holiday feeling.  That being said, I meant to share this card sooner.  I made it with the intention of being flat for mailing.

Beginning with a white card base, I adhered an old sheet of snowflake paper I found in my stash.  The trees are a die from Tim Holtz.  I added some sparkly glitter to them.  The Santa Sleigh Silhouette is a rubber stamp from Stampabilities.  "Merry Christmas" is a die by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I was finished with the card at this point but then decided to go back and add clear rhinestones to the snowflakes for more sparkle.

That's it for now.  I fell far short in my Christmas cardmaking this year.  I keep saying that I really need to make them much sooner.  Perhaps that should be my New Year's resolution!

Happy New Year, everyone!  I wish you all good things and good health in 2018.  Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for taking time to leave your kind comments.

Merry Christmas 2017

Can you believe Christmas is just about here?  Time is passing way too quickly.  Just a short post today.

I love this sweet image from Pion Design.  The papers are also from Pion combining "The Days of Winter" and "The Night Before Christmas" collections.  I used a Cheery Lynn die for the fancy edge.  The flowers, pearls and wooden snowflakes are from my stash.  The greenery are dies from Tim Holtz.  The word "joy" is a Momenta die cut from gold metallic cardstock.  Gold Stickles was used to edge the opening for the picture.

Well, friends who celebrate the holiday, I wish you the most happiest Christmas.  Take time to relax and enjoy each moment.

Noel Tag for Secret Garden Crafts

Hi there, everyone!  Today is the day for a new post on the Secret Garden Crafts blog and I have a Christmas tag to share.

The base of the tag is made from a cereal box and covered with papers from Pion Design.  The image is also from Pion and I added lace around its edges.  Three different laces were placed at the bottom of the tag.  I used diecuts from Tim Holtz and Memory Box to tuck in and around the image.  The gorgeous flowers are from Secret Garden Crafts--Hip Rosebuds, Sweetheart RosesWild Roses, English Roses, and Sweetheart Blossoms.  Rhinestones from my stash and Glass Bead Glitter Gel add some sparkle.  A pretty lace bow was tied to the top.

I was pleased with how this tag turned out.  The flowers are so pretty and add the perfect touch.  Remember, there is free shipping from Secret Garden Crafts for orders $20 or more.  Please also pop over to the Secret Garden Crafts blog to see some amazing inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

Fabric Tussie Mussie

Hi friends!  Just a little more than a week to go before Christmas.  Are you ready?  I know I will be making things right up to the big day!  I never allow enough time.  On the brighter side, we had three small snowstorms this past week which made me very happy.  However, a warmup is expected this coming week which makes me not so happy!

Today, I am sharing a fabric tussie mussie.  It came together quite easily and quickly.  These make wonderful gifts or decorations especially for the holidays.  I began with a potholder that I covered in a lacy fabric and then rolled into a cone shape.  No sewing required--I used Fabric Tac glue.  After I had the cone shape, I simply began covering it with various trims and appliques.  Here are some photos.

These can be filled with whatever you choose.  I elected to fill this one with some floral pieces from Michael's.

I apologize for the poor photo quality.  The lighting was bad the day I finished and I wanted to get it in the mail the same day.

Well, that's it for me today.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  I appreciate all your kind comments.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.  I will be back on Wednesday with a post for Secret Garden Crafts.

Merry Christmas Card for Secret Garden Crafts

If it's Wednesday, it must be inspiration post time at the Secret Garden Crafts blog.  Today, I have a Christmas card to share.

Using a white card for the base, I distressed and layered two sheets of paper from Maja Design's Vintage Frost Basics.  The sweet image is from Pion Design.  The fancy snowflakes are from Cheery Lynn.  How do you like the gorgeous flowers?  They can be found at Secret Garden Crafts; for example, Wild Roses and Sweetheart Blossoms.  The white Mulberry Paper Leaves are also found here.  I gave them all a coat of Faber Castell's Glass Bead Glitter Gel.  The white lace trim as well as other wonderful items can be found at Crafty City.

Please take some time to visit the Secret Garden Crafts blog to see what beautiful creations the rest of the design team are sharing.  Also, remember that there is free shipping at Secret Garden Crafts for orders of $20 or more and free shipping at Crafty City on orders of $75 or more.

Merry Tag

Hi friends!  Well, finally, we got our first snowfall of the season yesterday.  While it did snow all day until midnight, we only got a couple of inches.  I'll take it, though.  Hopefully, more to come!

Today, I have a tag in a bit of a different style than I normally do.  I love Tim Holtz' style and products even though I don't work with them often.  However, I've been wanting to dabble a bit with his new Christmas line and here is what I made.

Using a premade Ranger tag, I covered both sides with Tim's holiday papers, inking and distressing the edges.  The little strip of red cardstock at the bottom is the same as what covers the back.  I adhered Tim's ric-rac and tinsel trims at the bottom as well.  Next, I diecut some Holiday Greens from Tim's Kraft-Core cardstock.  The word "Merry" is from the Holiday Words set and cut from Tim's Kraft-Core Metallic cardstock.  The paper dolls were attached next.  I gave them a touch of color with Distress Markers.  The little girl was attached with foam dots.  Tinsel trim was then tied to the top.

Well, there you have it.  It was fun to create in a different vein.  I have Tim's tiny tags set that I am hoping to work with before Christmas.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments.  I also want to welcome the new followers to my blog.  I hope you will enjoy visiting.  Please stop back on Wednesday to see my post for Secret Garden Crafts.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Let It Snow Card for Secret Garden Crafts

Hi there!  I'm back today with a new post for Secret Garden Crafts.  Our theme this week is Christmas/Holiday/Winter and this is what I made.

The papers I used are from Stamperia's Sweet Christmas collection.  The edges were all distressed.  I used an Amy Design die called Ice Crystal Circle which can be found at Crafty City.  Isn't it gorgeous?  The My Besties image is called "Reindeer of Joy" and was colored with Copic markers.  The snowflake stickers are from Martha Stewart.  The flowers I used are Hip Rosebuds, Wild Roses, Tea Roses,  and Apple Blossoms which can be found at Secret Garden Crafts.  The leaves are Mulberry Paper Leaves.  A bit of lace, Stickles and twine bows finish off the card.

The pink bow at the top is actually a removable tag.

I love the soft colors of this paper collection.  It is so cheerful!

This card really helped put me in the Christmas crafting mood.  I hope you like it.  I am also sharing this card on the "Play Creative" Facebook page.  Please stop by there and join in the fun.  This is a monthly challenge group where the winner will receive a $15 prize to the Secret Garden Crafts shop.  The theme for the December challenge is Christmas/Holiday/Winter.  Please take some time to stop by the Secret Garden Craft blog and see the inspiring creations from my fellow design team girls. Also, remember that there is free shipping at Secret Garden Crafts for all orders $20 and over.  Stop by and see the gorgeous flowers and other items in the shop.

Christmas Cheer

Hi there, everyone!  Here we are in December already.  Now, I have to do some serious crafting in order to be ready for Christmas.  Anyone else in the same position?

My card today uses the beautiful Maja Design paper collection "I Wish."  This card came together so quickly.  All the paper edges were inked and distressed.  Cardboard was placed below each layer for dimension.  An icicle edge was given at the top using Snow Writer.  The wooden snowflake is from Recollections and was also given a bit of the Snow Writer for some highlighting.  The sweet Christmas tree was cut from the papers with an EK Tool.  Snow Writer was applied to its branches.  A simple red ribbon, baker's twine and jingle bells were tied around the card.  The rhinestone stars are from Michael's.

I love the vintage look of the papers in this collection as well as the sweet images.  It makes cardmaking so easy!

Well, that's all for me today.  The house is halfway decorated for Christmas, so I plan on trying to finish up the rest today.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by and for your sweet comments.  I will be back on Wednesday with a new post for Secret Garden Crafts.
