Butterfly Wish Card

We had lots and lots of snow mixed with some ice this past week.  More is expected Tuesday night; but by the end of the week, we are supposed to be seeing temperatures in the 50s.  With the weather keeping me indoors, I spent some time doing a lot of fussy cutting for future projects.

My card today was made for a relative's January birthday.  The pattern papers are all from Prima's Nature Garden line.  I started with a salmon-colored card base that I inked quite a bit with Distress Inks to tone the color down.  The chipboard frame was painted with green crackle paint, the edges inked with tea dye Distress Ink and then covered with a coat of Stickles.  Butterflies and lace edge border were made with Martha Stewart punches.  The pearl/rhinestone swirl is Prima.  The flower is from Michaels and highlighted with Stickles.  I stamped the word wish onto a Heidi Swapp label.

The image of the little fairy was also highlighted with Stickles.  I love these shabby papers designed by Jodie Lee Patterson for Prima.  I was fortunate to get an autographed pad of these 6x6 papers from her through her etsy shop.

Well, that's it for me today.  Need to get dinner started.  Wishing you a wonderful week!  Thanks so much for stopping by and for your sweet comments.

  3. Such a sweet vintage inspired card, Patty! Love the muted papers and the bright pop of green on the chipboard frame. That little fairy is super sweet. Love your details with glitter, pearls and trim.

  4. Very pretty, Patty! I had to take a closer look of the sweet image and gorgeous frame! Love the butterflies, pearls, and gorgeous paper! We are getting a reprieve from the snow here...yeah! The other day it rained, so a lot of the snow is melting. A bit windy, but the skies are blue and sun is shining!:-)
